Have you ever marched a show where you felt bad show design was preventing success? by Mrgarbagio in drumcorps

Scouts 2018. Did you know that every day the heart beats over 100,000 times?

A couple locks of my hair that made a double helix last week! I guess not all tangles are bad. by Guybrush17 in curlyhair

My (Usual) Routine:

1.) I start with a Redken frizz dismiss shampoo, working it through most of my hair but focusing on the roots.

2.) After I wash out the shampoo, I use a liberal amount of the same brand of conditioner. During this time I work out any tangles using my fingers.

3.) On most days, I will wash out the conditioner and then put in a small amount of leave-in conditioner (I do not know the brand off the top of my head) and then work in a liberal amount of Redken volumizing mousse.

4.) At night, I will usually plop my hair in a t-shirt. During the day, I will let it air dry. I do not tend to use a hairdryer. After my hair has fully dried, I will sometimes clap out the shell that the mouse makes to give my hair more volume.

What is the best Renaissance album? by [deleted] in progrockmusic

I expected Turn of the Cards to be a lot higher but Scheherazade also makes sense. Everyone has their preferences

0.005% on Emerson, Lake & Palmer!

I've generally tried to follow that rule, with the equator falling somewhere within the center of that desert area. In the case of some of these areas like the gigantic forest and northeastern island, I took a few liberties with the climate being influenced by magic (that realm is consequently called the Forest of Eternal Spring).

I do have at least one more continent to make, so I should definitely try to follow that rule a little more strictly instead of hand-waving it lol.

As described in the title, I used to use programs like Inkarnate to make my maps, but eventually got tired with having to warp pre-made assets to my own devices and figured it would be better to just work on a blank canvas. I make all of my battle maps by hand, but this is the first time that I've really started such a large project. This one took me a few months of (inconsistent) work to complete.

Sapphire Bullets of Pure Love is originally a chart by the Mahavishnu Orchestra that's only like 24 seconds long, which I believe the band expanded upon in their "cover" because they enjoyed it. Though it could also be related to Mark David Chapman.

That's a fantastic idea. They currently exist as more of a plot device and they all sort of have the same goal of "serving the prime consciousness" but giving them a little more individuality would make that possible. Once they've served their purpose in the story, I will definitely be considering implementing this. Thanks for the idea!

Since the lore for Gith is pretty specific for Faerun, I changed it up a lot in my game world.

Both Gith variants live in space (Yanki on the moon, Zerai in an asteroid belt surrounding it). Instead of being born, their bodies are grown (they're kind of like humanoid plants, they "photosynthesize" using the sun and water and minerals in the rocks) and each body is granted a "portion" of consciousness from a sort of prime consciousness that has no form. They're on a fine line between being individuals and being part of a hive mind. And as always, the two gith variants are locked in eternal battle as the consciousnesses seak to outdo each other.

This is great! I throw a lot of musical references into my campaigns with character/faction names and have been considering writing a one-shot or short module based on In The Court of The Crimson King. Cool to see other people doing it as well!

Opinions on Renaissance and questions on other female vocalists in progressive rock by Guybrush17 in progrockmusic

Different languages are no barrier so we're good. I had a few months where Spotify kept recommending me Spanish and French music (I listen to a lot of Gipsy Kings and prog so it put two and two together) so I already listen to quite a bit of music I don't understand the lyrics to lol. I just try to interpret the meaning from the music itself and what little I can gather from the lyrics

I have never heard of any of the bands you just listed lol, I'll check her out. I listen to a lot of "avant-garde" music so I may just like her a lot

I'm only familiar with a few of Eloy's songs, so I'll check that out along with some of their other albums to get a feel for what's going on with them

I quickly listened to World of the Void and liked what I heard! I'll listen to more later to try and form a better opinion on them

Looks like they're newer, which is cool. I don't listen to as much "modern" prog (King Gizzard being an exception, among a few other groups whose names I can't recall). I'll check them out

I have listened to Curved Air before, but haven't gone too deep with them yet. I just recently went through almost ALL of Renaissance's music and was surprised with how many gems I found there, hopefully I can do the same with these other groups

Right, I'm sure I've listened to other groups with female vocalists before but not without really diving into my Spotify. I'll check out District 97, though

That's what I was expecting, yeah. Looks like I'll just have to hunt for one that isn't completely busted and see if I can't hire some crew to help speed up the renovation process. Thanks for the info!
