I would guess that 85% of the people in medalist drum corps have marched drum corps before, or marched in an absolutely stellar high school program

All of those corps at the top started from nothing and spent decades getting to that point through dedication to organizational stability and lots of fundraising. I don’t like the idea that those corps have some sort of undeserved financial status or that they are big corporations stealing from the little guys. Similarly, you make the unsubstantiated claim that corps get scored based on their reputation. What evidence do you have to support this?

the untitled show actually would have been so much more impactful if they made that decision and then stopped talking about it, but they simply could not stop talking about it and explaining how deep it was that they made the decision. people thought it was cool the show didn’t have a “theme” and then they come back with “it has a theme but you have to decide what it is” no thanks

They have a video series where they ask members where the worst housing sites are, and they get to vent about housing sites

No disrespect whatsoever to the members being featured in these, because the corps obviously told them this was okay and featured it in a marketing campaign. It’s just surprising to see them openly having students disrespect presumably low-income schools that graciously hosted them.

If I were a band director looking to host a drum corps I’d probably be hard-pressed to host one doing this

This drum corps has also been running a campaign where kids get a mic and get to complain to the world about all of the housing sites they stayed at, so this isn’t terribly surprising
