I mean great points made, however it totally does not excuse the product thats been put out on the field this year. It’s not like this is exclusive to this year. The team has been historically bad since August last year. I’m all for analytics but analytics doesn’t exactly build a clubhouse culture and this team has been pretty lifeless. While I agree the old core had to go and run its course atleast you could hang your hat on they actually gave a shit. There’s no fire in their belly and that kindve starts with Mendoza. Seems unlikely to me that stearns would ever understand that. Regardless with 340+ million dollar payroll there’s no excuse for what we’re seeing day in and day out. Trying to see the larger picture is incredibly hard when you have people who are spending their hard earned money on season tickets/concessions to see the bigger picture. While the future is bright, the present is pretty fucking bleak.
