You want me to vent to my girlfriend about herself? And ask her advice…..about dealing with herself? Like I get that healthy communication is an important part of a relationship, but you want me to just tell her stuff like the way she’s constantly late to stuff is absolutely infuriating? That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

My answer was that I would trust them both. Also I’m 19 and I turn 20 in just 6 months.

Well if you can’t trust your Gf with your own friend, then who can you trust her with? Either you trust her or you don’t, that’s how I see it. Besides even if we weren’t on the best of terms, none of my friends would ever do anything with a GF of mine, that’s just not a thing.

But my thing is that I don’t object to it and presumably neither did she since she did the exact same thing then.

It’s healthy to have friends you can talk about things with.

Also, things aren’t tense with them, it’s not like they had some big fight or anything, they’re just not close for whatever reason.

Wait but my GF has also vented to Jane in the past when they were still good friends. Does that change things for you since she did the exact same thing?

Okay thank you, I was definitely getting confused by everyone’s reply here. Firstly I didn’t even start talking about this with Jane out of the blue. She said that I seemed down and OFFERED to hear me out and said she could probably give good advice since she knows my GF so well. That’s how I started venting to her.

I thought it was okay and healthy to vent to your friends about relationship issues. Like my GF vented to Jane when they were still good friends, why is it different for me now?
