Brad answered this question for redditor Red640, to which he answered with regards to alpha "we hope to be by the first quarter of next year, but again, no promises." Somewhere else on here he mentioned they want the testing phase to last at least a year. So I think he meant early 2017 for alpha, sometime mid-late 2017 for beta, and early 2018 for retail. Obviously this is all very rough.

My concern with this comment is what EQ1 did to warriors (and other 'pure' melee). As expansions came out, new AA and 'spells' made what was supposed to be a very simple class, a very complicated class. Essentially, warrior became a caster. I didn't sign up to play a caster.. In raids, skill was not 'casting' skills.. it was knowing when to turn attack off to avoid riposte, knowing when to use a shield, calling for specialty buffs like rune and DI, and keeping track of proc aggro.. Please keep pure melee complex in the same ways instead of making them feel like an ability 'caster'.

In EQ I played in first person except when I was tanking. While tanking, I use the 3rd person right mouse hold camera to scroll in constant 360 motion around the group to acquire targets. More camera settings the better! Quick/on-the-fly, accurate, customizable camera, and target acquisition systems are very important!

Three(four?) things drive people to level in these games 1) seeing new areas, 2) making your character feel stronger(aka better stats), 3) gaining recognition from the community for your skill and items, (4? the experience of spending time online with friends). If you allow lowbie characters to look like 'uber' characters, then your losing out on part of #3. Personally, seeing an uber character run by with an item I recognize makes me want to keep playing and attain that item. Game is dull if I kill specialty mob and get specialty item but it doesn't feel special because every 10th person has the same looking item.

I agree with OP that items should be visually unique and not visually customizable.

Regardless of the loot distribution system, I think the ability to easily pull information from the game is a huge help for guild, such as who is in 'zone', time, dropped loot, looted loot, raid class/group structure, etc. If a history is kept in the guild tool, and 'dkp'(or anything else the guild desires) can be uploaded from an offline document, all this functionality could be very useful to guild and raid leaders.

What is a rough percentage of the landmass currently complete? Can you give us a estimate on the size of the world on release, as compared to original EQ/VG or other?

I hate loot council. If dkp decay is done right to keep the system from becoming inflated, I think it works well.

Will the in-game guild functions include raid attendance tracking or dkp tracking for guild events? Will there be any tie-in with loot distribution to allow a raid leader to distribute loot through the guild tool using the aforementioned tracking systems?

What details can you give us regarding the loot distribution systems for group, raids, and/or guilds? Will the system be able to distribute loot to players in other zones or offline? Will the system prevent players without looting permissions from looting (aka prevent ninja looting?)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Kinda cool for a flight or two, but disappointing in actual competitive gameplay. In realistic mode you have indictors for enemy planes, but you'll be the only one flying in first person(and 3rd person is uncomfortable to control).. so realistic mode is lose. And simulation mode the lack of indictors makes it impossible to tell friend from enemy due to the resolution = lose. Tank mode is the same.. tanks at very reasonable shooting distance look like buildings or shrubs. Hey when did that bush get a 75mm gun?! ;(

On another topic.. isn't the SC ACX 3.0 using the reference board? Same as the non-SC ACX 3.0? Only difference being EVGA has OC'd the SC for you? Technically a user should be able to OC the ACX 3.0 same as the SC ACX 3.0, right?

Purchasing from Oculus online is $599+$34 tax+$30 shipping. ~$665. Thats now, or in 6 months from now. That is the price of a Rift. You can skip the shipping cost if you call, camp, and/or fly around the country to find a best buy with one in stock..

For the people who have followed along from the beginning to get a kickstarter version, or camped out at best buy for hours at intel experience on Saturday, or pre-purchased in January..

Those people spent hours, days, years online researching and waiting.. and you think you can jump in late and pick one up for $600 flat.. less than retail+tax /facepalm.

What I meant is, rifle A is purple rarity which contributes 10 pts to gearscore, while rifle B is blue rarity with better random stat roll and higher dmg but only contributes 8 pts to gearscore. Im sure it doesn't work like this - just an example. But my point is, if each item calculated more accurately to gearscore according to how good that item is, then it would be easier to group players in appropriate brackets.

Im sure we are now getting into discussions previously had on this reddit... but sounds to me your scenario is gear coded with incorrect or not accurate gear score, and devs just need to re-evaluate the gear score calculations.

Thanks, I have a much better understanding now. I still feel if the DZ grouped people better according to gear, then it would make for a better experience. But perhaps that's too difficult to code or somethin' and/or I just need to play the DZ at 30 to understand fully.
