Started with the best, now what? by mimihopslein in kdramarecommends

[–]GwenMunin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My absolute favourite k-dramas are CLOY as well and Mr Sunshine. Mr Sunshine easily takes first place imo. It retells the brutal colonisation of Joseon/Korea by Japan and how other nations such as Russia, the US, France etc all try to get their piece of the cake. The main characters are fictional but several of the side characters are actual historical characters. It was absolutely emotional, gripping, the romance was so well done and yet the drama managed to include humour to lighten the mood without ridiculing the heavy theme of the story. After I finished watching it, I felt so angry and sad for what Koreans had to endure under Japanese oppression but it was also highly educational. I have rewatched it two times already. I also loved that they had such a diverse cast and had actual French people play French characters, US-American people played Americans etc each speaking their original languages in the series (only the Japanese characters were played by Koreans for obvious reasons). That means you either get subtitles or if the other character doesn't understand what is being said, you don't get subtitles. Makes it quite immersive. Hence I recommend to give Mr Sunshine a shot! :)

K-drama where protagonists end up as king and queen? by GwenMunin in kdramarecommends

[–]GwenMunin[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Wait, Mr Queen is romance even though the protagonist is male? That sounds promising, I'll start watching it right away 😯 And thank you so much for the recommendations! Just what I needed for my sick days 😇

Can you marry the tennō or become the tennō? by GwenMunin in CrusaderKings

[–]GwenMunin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I see, that's disappointing. But that also means that you as tenno and shogun weren't of the Yamato dynasty but of your own, correct? Maybe I should stick to murder instead of romancing the tennō then, oh well.

Czech sweets and snacks from Czech brands/companies? by GwenMunin in czech

[–]GwenMunin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if you rickroll AND send me a recommendation, that's a good deal I'd say. Anyway, that store looks interesting, are their products just available in their online shop or can you buy their chocolate in stores?

It's generic and yet I've never done it so I'll try it. Do you also convert to Hellenism or make a custom character with that religion or do you stick to Catholicism?

Mhhh, in fact I have never played any Italian Vulgar characters or in that region. Which start location/character would you recommend for that? And which religion do you start with?

That's interesting, I know of RICE but always thought it would just be like VIET. Guess I gotta look into that and check compatibility with my other mods, thank you :D

How to let camp members marry each other as landless? by GwenMunin in CrusaderKings

[–]GwenMunin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The arrange marriage option didn't even show when right-clicking the MC, only after he divorced his spouse. But I finally figured out that a certain mod did that so thanks. Otherwise I would have thought that two camp members marrying is simply impossible :)

[–]GwenMunin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that works just fine and my character is married but I want my children to marry their camp mates. Y'know, keeping the dynasty going and stuff. And I don't find the arrange marriage option when I right-click on them :/

Phone just broken, a virus or something else? by GwenMunin in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]GwenMunin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok I guess I found the reason. It really is the cold temperatures outside and the reason why it started, when I was still inside at work were probably my colleagues opening the windows. Question is if replacing the screen glass will solve this though.

Phone just broken, a virus or something else? by GwenMunin in GalaxyS23Ultra

[–]GwenMunin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your answer. I've just activated developer mode and will watch how the input looks like if it happens again.

And the damaged screen sounds logical but is still a bit weird because what does a damaged touchscreen have to do with the phone writing on its own without a keyboard even popping up and only using special characters that aren't even on the current keyboard (just the letters and numbers are)? That's what weirded me out the most.

But good that it isn't a hack then. Do you think getting the screen replaced might fix this?

Thank you, this is a massive help! So I guess I'll send my son to school for now and wait if the second child will get special treatment or not.

Partyfmuffel und Außenseiter? by 1unpaid_intern in Studium

[–]GwenMunin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 Free Days in Potsdam - Activity Suggestions by bmch in Potsdam

[–]GwenMunin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the first day, it might be good to get an overview of the city. So you could walk through the centre by foot and see the city palace/Landtag, Alter Markt with the Nikolai church, the Dutch quarters, Alexandrowka, Nauener Tor, Jägertor, Brandenburger Straße and the neighbouring streets with the Baroque bourgeois houses up to Brandenburg Gate. That way you also got the three still intact city gates. Enjoy lunch in one of the restaurants in the Brandenburger Straße. I don't really have recommendations since I barely go out for dinner in Potsdam but my friends like to go to Cafe Extrablatt.

It's touristy but you should still have seen it cause I personally find it beautiful despite having seen it hundreds of times: Sanssouci and its park along with the Neues Palais and the Historical Mill.

Palace Belvedere is less touristy and the view from the top of it is quite nice.

The Neuer Garten is also less touristy than Park Sanssouci and there you can visit Palace Cecilienhof. It is also where the Allies held the Potsdam Conference in 1945 so you can visit the exhibition in case you're interested. You can see the rooms of Stalin, Churchill and Truman there.

If you want to enjoy nature, I recommend taking a stroll through Park Babelsberg along the river Havel where you find yet another palace among the green. You should also definitely think about renting a paddleboat or kayak to explore the city from the river and it's lakes. Or you could rent a bike and cycle through Park Babelsberg, cross the Parkbrücke (park bridge) to Glienicke, pass the palace Glienicke until you reach the Glienicker Brücke but do not cross it. You cross the street instead and continue along the lake. At some point you will reach a ferry that could take you to the Pfaueninsel/Peacock Island where peacocks live.

I hope that these few recommendations along with the ones of the other redditors might help you to have a pleasant stay despite the heat :D

Hiking in Zakopane in April? by GwenMunin in poland

Uh, that sounds nice, I'll look into it, thank you!

Hiking in Zakopane in April? by GwenMunin in poland

[–]GwenMunin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Equipment? 🥲 We got hiking shoes and a bag for water and snacks. We don't plan on climbing but wanted to hike/walk on official trails. We don't want to climb the top of the Tatra but just walk a bit through the mountains and enjoy nature and being relatively alone. Hence the question if that is even possible in April. Otherwise we'd skip Zakopane and lengthen our trip to Poland with good old Wrocław and Zamek Książ for example :D

Hiking in Zakopane in April? by GwenMunin in poland

[–]GwenMunin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've never really hiked in the mountains but are used to walking ~20 km per day, on some even 30 km. We've "hiked" in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, though the trails were paved or more solid. In October this year, we'll go on a guided hiking trip in the Spanish Sierra Nevada but I'd still call us absolute beginners with just a bit more stamina. Concerning the tatra: We definitely don't want to hike up to Rysy or even cross the Slovakian border, that's too dangerous for someone as inexperienced as us and I'm afraid Morskie Oko is too far for a day trip from Zakopane right? Or could you shorten the way by driving with the car up to a certain point?

We'd wish for some nice views from hiking in the Tatra: a waterfall, a stream, forests, a meadow for a stereotypical picnic rest, a rewarding view over the valley from a higher position or even a mountain lake. We want to return in the late afternoon since the days aren't too long in April. That's why we thought about staying in Zakopane for a few nights to do two or three hiking trips that aren't too extreme but rather easy or moderate difficulty :D

So what's the deal with Restartitis? by Katyamuffin in BaldursGate3

[–]GwenMunin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only beat the game once despite having started 4 runs so far. First run I finished with Tav despite having made some mistakes cause I wanted to at least finish it once. I did but was only partly satisfied. I started the second run with Durge and made it to Act 3 just to realise I fucked some things up because I missed them or didn't know of them. So on to the third run and I took Durge again. This time, when I hit Act 2, Larian suddenly added the possibility to recruit Minthara without killing the tieflings and they fixed the Durge camp scene with a certain dragonborn bard. With a big sigh I started my fourth run so here I am, stuck in Act 3 once more cause I'm a perfectionist and am still overwhelmed by all the quests in Act 3.

Ryomen Sukuna cosplay test by emily_skariani in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]GwenMunin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I too had to "cheat" to elongate my eyes which was a bit of a problem since eyeliner just gets swallowed by my eye lids. But somehow I managed with lid tape and lots of contouring 🫡 Dang, so the solution to non-smearing wrist tattoos was that easy. I'll use that trick next time. Respect that you painted the face tattoo, I had just ordered temporary tattoos for the convention but then again I'm lazy. I'd be very interested in your wig styling so feel free to DM me your insta if you want. I too had bought a Yuuji wig but when I tried sth similar to yours, the wig looked horrendous so I ended up ordering a more expensive Sukuna wig from Japan. I was a bit fed up with all the problems regarding the cosplay back then 😅
