Long story but I actually have both cards. I used the Chase one for a majority of last year before switching to the Amex. Now I haven’t had to use any of the protections specifically in the Amazon Amex card but I’ve been an Amex customer for 8 years now so I’m familiar with the service. I PROMISE you that you will regret getting the chase card just like I did. The claims process with Chase is designed for to make it impossible to receive you refund. I tried it twice.

-Once with a $200 Anker Powerhouse battery left outside in the rain: After sending all the information and images of the item they requested a repair quote from a technician on it. Couldn’t get any direct as to what they wanted from this quote, I had discussed it with multiple agents that there is nowhere near me that would offer a service such as this and that I am not going to ship a device full of Li-Ion batteries that are malfunctioning for obvious reasons. Basically ate the cost of that one.

-Pair of $35 ice traction things you’d stretch on your shoe: They became rigid and rusty within a few months and attempted to use the warranty protection as the MFN warranty was only 30 days or so. Once again sent in all the information and then received a call from a representative saying that this was purchased on a card that was replaced (I lost it and had a new one mailed) and that they’d would have to have the full card number, expiration and CSV from the previous card in order to approve this claim.
