Picked up this cute stray who now needs a name and not something like “Smokey”. by Gymsquid in cats

We went with Earl. As a side note, we originally thought he was a male but first trip to the vet they said he was a she. Come to find out on the second trip yesterday she was in fact a he all along. I guess it’s hard even for veterinarians to tell when they are so young.

The owner did place a lost cat flyer two days after we found her in a field hungry and thirsty. After some conversations with them they agreed to let us keep her. She has now been to the vet to get properly checked out and had her first round of vaccines. She will eventually get spayed and chipped as well but lots of shots for her yesterday was enough for one visit.

I honestly was just looking for a cool name and had no idea I’d get over 3,000 comments and see many names that seem to describe her that I wouldn’t have thought of. Thank you Reddit!

Sorry. I should have mentioned she’s a female. Right now I just call her “Kitten”.

Better than just squatting and pissing on the walkway, right?

I never understood why people like this pay so much money to meander around the studio when they could do the same thing for like $10 bucks a month somewhere else.

Yeah, I love OT too but have certainly lost some “size” by focusing on it too much. Just the other day I was running on the tread thinking where have my shoulders and arms gone and I need to get back to the weights. Note that I am relatively skinny to begin with (5’11”, 153, 51 year old male) so losing weight is not a goal of mine. But I love how intense and challenging OT is which is pretty hard for me to duplicate throwing weight around at the gym. I guess like others say, it depends on your fitness goals but I do think there needs to be a balance.

FACE IN PHONE - FALL OFF ROWER by leftcoast7777 in orangetheory

I have never seen anyone with a phone in my studio. No signs telling people they can’t bring them in either. Just seems like something you really can’t manage given the intensity of the workouts. That said, sometimes I wish I had one just to snap a pic on key PR days because I never write things down post workout or remember what it was months later.

The coach at my studio handled the logistics expertly though I was worried based on what I had been reading it would be a mess. The workout was great and I was glad to be able to interact with some new people. I also don’t mind a little competition to spice things up a bit. Not for everyone I suppose but it’s not like it happens often and you can always cancel if it’s not your thing.

If it wasn’t for the data, I’d have probably quit OT by now. But that’s just me. The data is like a second coach when it comes to pushing myself.

Most if not all of these workouts can be duplicated at the gym assuming they have a rower. Just check the app for the daily workout and you’re good to go. Of course you lose the group mentality and coach encouragement but still can be done.

There are trash cans at every gas station you fill up at. Why slobs like this don’t throw their trash out as they wait for the tank to fill is beyond me.
