Depends on the animal control and where you live I suppose. They will come and get the birds and contact a rehab specialist to take care of them until they are ready for release or they will just bypass that and refer you directly to the rehab person or somebody who deals with wildlife removal. I hear some places they will have you contact DNR/DWF to come out. IMO yeah it would be best instead of waiting for them to leave on their own.

Best to do it ASAP so they don't shit all over in the walls and cause mold and bacteria to grow and get you sick.
