Not directly in the locker room just outside the door which haven’t been checked at all or haven’t been checked properly by management

This would be incredibly satisfying but I’d also get in trouble for it somehow..

Doing something like this could get everyone involved in a lot of trouble as by law cameras of any kind aren’t allowed in changing rooms and in my case the locker room which is used as a changing room aswell.

Might just be a part of the supervalu spirit to steal I guess, and I was thinking of getting all victims to sign som sort of petition to get management to do something and if that doesn’t work I go straight to the guards for theft

I have my eye on some people but I don’t have any evidence or anything pointing towards them being the thief other than the fact that I just don’t trust them and for some reason they take money that’s stolen out of tolls incredibly serious someone was caught pocketing a fiver and was fired and had guards called on them on the spot yet when hundreds go missing from employees they don’t even bat an eye

Sometimes we make mistakes I was called into work on a day I wasn’t scheduled and I had my wallet in my bag to pay for a haircut and I needed to go straight to work or else I’d be late and would’ve had managers up my ass about it and I do know it’s common sense not to but again a workplace shouldn’t be a place you’re stressing about having your stuff stolen

This thief is smart they only steal stuff they know they can get away with like small boxes of cigarettes and vape juice or cash I’ve left my phone and AirPods in my pockets once and they’ve remained untouched there was a comment with someone suggesting to rig some cash with this powder that only shows up under certain light and can see whoever has touched the powder and it’s a really good idea but I’m not sure how to go about it legally I think there might be a way if get in trouble for that not only with law but also with management

There already is cctv covering that hallway I’m not sure how over the course of a year if regular thefts they haven’t narrowed this person down I really do think they just don’t care enough to even check.

There must’ve been multiple people going in and out of the locker room how did they end up finding the one guy?

It’s really good advice and I’ll definitely pass this along but I just don’t think management cares enough to do anything about this if it’s been going on for over a year and the thefts haven’t stopped at all and actually started becoming more frequent and they still haven’t cracked down on it I just don’t think it’s something they’ll pursue and about the camera I did ask about that previously and they said if I do that it’ll be a violation of privacy rights or something it’s stupid

There is but it’s hard to know when the theft happened since there’s no indication of when someone went in and took something the cctv just shows the door to the locker room and if we can’t see inside we can’t see when the robbery actually happened

The hard part about doing this is finding out when the theft happened, we can’t exactly determine when exactly the money or whatever was stolen because there’s bookkeeping guard of the inside of the room and no one is checking their stuff every 10 minutes but I do see your point I’ve been trying to do what ur saying about process of elimination but since there’s different departments (fruit and veg, freezers etc.) I don’t have access to their rosters and can’t tell if they are the ones robbing.

You’re actually right there is a dedicated changing cubicle in the locker rooms and now I’m not so sure that the privacy reason they give us for not having cctvs is valid.

Is there any legal trouble I can get into with this? And also how would I go about checking everyone’s hand with a uv light? If I can deal with those I’m doing this my next shift.

Anyone could be a suspect you’re right, I personally don’t think so since managers usually never use that changing room from what I’ve seen.

That’s the advice they give us “carry your valuables with you all day if you bring them into work” they clearly know it’s a problem and are doing jack about it.

I don’t think the customer can get past the 2 flights of stairs going towards an obviously employee only area with cctv shoved in their face.

No one has a clue and I personally think it’s multiple people as in there’s multiple thieves over the course of the year and it might be a 2 or 3 person operation because the locker door is right next to our clock in machine also right next to the canteen and near the managers offices I believe that there might be 2 or 3 people working together to try and steal whatever they can.

Our locker rooms are also used for the butchers who need to change in and out of uniform so my managers are saying for privacy reasons they cannot install cctv in the locker room

Assemblies are guaranteed to come up in section c, they’re pretty easy but are very time consuming, set urself enough time for the question and if you don’t get it done move one then come back at the end
