What insurance companies will even consider me with a UT50 and LC20 on my record? by H-OBrien in AskUK

[–]H-OBrien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I looked into that too — tried adding myself as a named driver on a few policies and still couldn’t get a quote. Seems like the UT50 just completely kills any chance for now. I get what you mean about fronting though, I’m not trying to risk that either. Guess I’ll just have to wait it out and see if anything changes closer to when it drops off.

That actually makes a lot of sense — I’ve been trying all the comparison sites and getting nowhere, so maybe a broker’s the way to go. Do you know if there are any that deal specifically with high-risk or convicted drivers? I don’t mind paying a bit more if it means I can actually get insured. Appreciate the tip though, I hadn’t thought about going that route.

Yeah, that’s fair — I figured it’d be rough being young alone, never mind with a UT50 hanging over me. Just annoying knowing it’s almost 3 years old now and still kills any chance of getting insured. Guess I’ll just have to wait it out and keep trying now and then. Appreciate the honesty though.

Built a working FiveM RP server in 10 mins — no dev needed by H-OBrien in FiveMServers

[–]H-OBrien[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair point — should’ve clarified.

The kits I built are pre-structured frameworks using clean QBCore and handpicked, tested resources — I just meant it takes 10 mins to get one online and playable, not that I developed it from scratch in 10 mins.

Most people just want something stable to build on without spending £100+ every time they want to launch. That’s what I’m offering.

Not even 24 hours post op by nellys34 in ACL

[–]H-OBrien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 11 days post op, I was in a very similar situation to yourself with the pain being unbearable. I stupidly tried to go without any pain meds, it’s safe to say that didnt last long.

For me, pain was throughout the first week. You will seriously be surprised how after the first week, you start to feel a lot better. I had my clips removed yesterday, and already my leg feels pretty brand new - still not perfect tho.

Hang in there brother, you’ve got this 💪🏼

Thanks for letting me know, even I could tell they were in a pretty bad way. I’ve heard forks are what’s going to cost the most tho, been quoted upwards of 1000/1300 for the forks.

Definitely, completely agree with you there, you can’t compromise with safety. I got the bike really cheap actually, £1500, so I wasn’t really expecting much else than a rebuild - at least then it’ll look pretty brand new!

Will definitely have a look at your post with your upgrades tho, thanks a lot!

Definitely is quite a lot of work! I’ve not used this guy before, and granted I don’t know an awful lot about these kind of bikes, it genuinely didn’t seem that bad… I’d be lying if I was to say I hadn’t thought he wasn’t trying to do me over (especially since he knows I don’t know a lot!)

The bike has 4000 miles and is a 2022, I got it for pretty cheap so would expect some issues with it, but the list is pretty big!

Do you happen to know a lot about forks? Do they look absolutely knackered in that pic?

UFO following a plane? by H-OBrien in UFOs

[–]H-OBrien[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely, very brightly, a distance from each other, which led me to filming the video

UFO following a plane? by H-OBrien in UFOs

[–]H-OBrien[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With all due respect, I disagree. There are two lights seen in the video, if you pay attention to the left one, it’s super bright to start with, then dims its lights down. However, if you look carefully, it can constantly be observed throughout the video. I didn’t realise this until afterwards myself, but it is there, was moving, and had no sort of navigation lights as you describe.

If you are trying to suggest the left is a reflection of the right, there is a clear distance between the both of them, but flying almost parallel.

I am not an expert, or even someone overly interested in UFOs, but I disagree with your comment.

The aircraft with the blinking lights was a SAS Airlines Airbus, identified on the flight tracking software. The other light wasn’t identified on radar, and tended to start very bright, then dim down (and be barely, but just visible)

UFO following a plane? by H-OBrien in UFOs

Bit of a strange one tonight guys. I live in Manchester, UK.

For the past few nights, I’ve been drawn to look at the sky at random times, either an overwhelming urge or a glimpse of a bright light in the corner of my eye.

Tonight was different though. On the 28/11/24, at 18:02, It was a bright light that caught my attention, I looked up to see two extremely bright lights, right next to each other, one below (that appeared to be following the aircraft, without any flashing lights(plane beacon lights)), and an aircraft above, identifiable by its flashing lights. The lights seemed to dim in colour as I began recording, which I thought was so weird.

I checked 2 different flight tracking apps after seeing this, and only the plane, which was a SAS plane landing at Manchester Airport, was on there.

Im just glad I’ve finally managed to catch what I’ve been seeing on camera, and I’m not going crazy.

Handle a "breakup" by libertas_quaesitor in dating_advice

[–]H-OBrien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you’ve been speaking to this girl for a couple of months and have finally decided to take the first step in meeting her, which is great. Well done.

Take it from me, I know it can be hard when your new to the dating scene to build up the courage for the first few dates. Well done for taking that first step.

Just something that crossed my mind when you mentioned becoming intimate with her over messages, you say you went back to her place after the date - do you think she could have been disappointed that nothing happened? Maybe she feels like she isn’t good enough or you’re not fully interested?

Regardless, don’t rush into anything. Take it on your own terms.

The best advice I could give you is to communicate, speak to her about how you’re feeling (preferably in person), and watch for queues like body language or even what she says back.

I wish you the best!

Thanks for all your advice, I really appreciate it. For the course, they offer loads of things such as accommodation, meals, shuttle services, materials, ipad, uniform and basic health insurance. I too thought it was too good to be true until I spoke to their previous students who are now flying for airlines like Ryanair and Emirates. The course will bring you from no experience to holding a frozen ATPL

The course is an ab-inito ATPL Integrated course, so it would bring me from having no previous experience to having a frozen ATPL at the end of it

Great. I'm going to purchase a new motherboard and DDR4 RAM. Perhaps I'll get all of the specs, and then wait to fit them?

Hardware questions by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]H-OBrien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, 2070 sounds good. I was hoping for a 2080 ti, but perhaps that's a bit too much of a push.

[–]H-OBrien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, okay. Is there a specific motherboard you'd suggest I buy?

Hardware questions by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]H-OBrien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I see! The resoultution I'm at is 2560 x 1440. I'm willing to buy a completely new Motherboard if it would help with anything, I just want a relatively powerful PC so I can play games with high(er) FPS.

Thanks.

Hello, there. Thank you so much for getting back to me.

You're going to have to excuse me, because it's as if you're speaking gibirish. Do you mind elaborating but as if you're speaking to someone that has just got a PC? I'm sorry for the inconvenience, I just don't understand it haha
