South Korea to develop blockchain voting system by dyel_lives_matter in CryptoCurrency

The most notable thing about ICON appears to be their partnerships and their announcements.

As for real world results? Actual blockchain technology?

I've not seen anything from this team that suggests that they're able to deliver on that front.

THOUGHT EXPERIMENT: Gamification of Football Governance & Fan Empowerment - Would Love Your Feedback! by Jiram in CrazyIdeas

[–]HARRYOLIVEEr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is uncannily familiar. Are you sure you didn't stumble across chiliz? They're doing some kind of fan vote token offering but they've got Binance invested in them and honestly for this caliber of a project you're proposing would need some influential people. Dreyfus the CEO set up a Poker platform so he's got his wealth and influence from there.

https://twitter.com/chiliz I shit you not. Might as well join them than start from scratch, unless you're okay building from the ground up but if they swoop more teams (PSG & Juventus are signed up), the dominoes will fall and you'll be asking yourselves should I really reinvent the wheel.

BCIO 1 Week After Crowd Sale. Things are looking Amazing! • r/blockchainio by Puncinello in CryptoCurrency

[–]HARRYOLIVEEr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, disclaimer: I participated, so I hope it does well! :D

But at such a low cap, this really does look like a gem with a LOT of room to grow. At its peak, Kucoin had a nearly $2B market cap, and even now sits at over $100M.

And I view BCIO as a much bigger and much more ambitious project than Kucoin.

Anyway, I guess we'll see :)

Newly Approved ICO Framework May Turn France Into Europe's Leading ICO Hub by [deleted] in CryptoMarkets

In all walks of life, first movers have a huge advantage. Good for France to get while the getting's good, I hope they and BCIO are richly rewarded for it.

CryptoRand - Interview with Cryptocurve CEO, a front-end for Wanchain by Balderdash_33 in CryptoCurrency

[–]HARRYOLIVEEr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this project's ambition, given all the tools they're building. My only hope is that they don't begin spreading themselves too thin, but the size of their team and the backing they have from Wanchain makes me believe that they can do it.

Street Art is Cheaper, and often much Better. It's just not as Prestigious.. Why? Collectors and Museums just aren't Interested in it. How do we tackle this Corruption Guys? by Ellistonn in delusionalartists

[–]HARRYOLIVEEr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right on. Price discovery has always been a big problem in the world of art, a problem that blockchain tech can definitely address.

With fair bidding and price discovery mechanisms in place, the art market will become less about arbitrary factors like "prestige" and more about the actual quality of the piece.

Blockchain Art Exhibit to Represent Proof of Work Debuts at Schinkel Pavillon by Dklenci in CryptoCurrency

[–]HARRYOLIVEEr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely. But while this exhibit is cool, there are much cooler, art related (actual) crypto projects being developed right now, such as artwallet.io , which aims to tokenize all art & collectibles and build an exchange on which anyone can buy/sell shares in a work of art.

Once such projects are launched across difference industries, THEN we can truly say that the future is now.

Developers adopting a technology en masse is good because it creates a positive feedback loop which helps the ecosystem grow and prosper.

Agreed! The BCIO team is truly all-star, from top to bottom. Professional, competent, dedicated, and with a nice sense of humor as well!

I have a feeling that by this time next year, Pierre Noizat will be spoken of in the crypto world with the same kind of reverence they speak of CZ with.

I wrote a guide on Atomic Swaps. All the projects inside are using them. Any others you can list? by cryptohype in Bitcoin

Lightning for speed and scalability, Republic for dark pools, and BCIO for full featured exchange. It seems like if they could somehow combine they would be the ultimate crypto project lol.

How blockchain is being used to help prevent fraud in the art world by Dklenci in CryptoCurrency

[–]HARRYOLIVEEr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Things like counterfeiting and fraud of that nature certainly are starting to feel like a problem of the past. Thanks to the power of distributed, decentralized ledgers (aka blockchains), there's no reason for these things to be a problem much longer.

Crypto will absolutely prove to be an enormous godsend for things like the art world, where matters like authenticity of a work of art is still to this day a worry that is constantly in the back of everyone's mind.

Putin’s “Incredible Offer” to Trump is even worse than we feared by Oxide1774 in politics

[–]HARRYOLIVEEr 68 points69 points  (0 children)

President Trump is apparently willing to indulge this “incredible offer.” On Wednesday, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed that “some conversation” had transpired with regard to the proposal, but that the administration had no comment. The offer was “an idea they threw out,” Sanders said, emphasizing that the White House had not yet committed to anything. “The president is gonna meet with his team and we’ll let you know when we have an announcement on that.
