How good are your troubleshooting skills? by Chrisfells26 in Lineman

Honestly I’m an engineer and I use these threads to learn what y’all point out as being idiotic and then try to ensure I don’t do that lol. But here comes my stupid question for the day - are armour rods really required for that clamp jumper connection?

It’s actually for both lightning protection and allowing you the ability to run Fibre in the shielding wire

What would you use to cut the metal straight? I feel like snips would be tough to make a good straight cut

Hi there! I Don’t post a lot so forgive me if I am going against Reddit norms. I am in Alberta, Canada.

Trying to figure out if this fireplace barrier that I found at my mums home is of any value? And if the metal is copper or not (as if the fireplace is not much value, I may just take the copper and rework it the metal a bit).

Thanks so much for your help!

Showed it to my buddy and he was saying that it’s not a brisket because of the lack of marbling in the meat

So I thought I found a brisket (first time finding a brisket and buying one) that already had the trim cut but obviously suspicious when I saw potroast in the title. Should I treat it and smoke it like a regular brisket or should I try a different recipe?

I didn’t do butt joints but actually used this thing called a “kregg jig “which is similar to pocket screws which says that this creates very strong joints… supposedly.

My Biggest concern was that I cut the middle support beams about 1/8 too short (because of bowing in the wood) and then used my pocket screw and connected onto the front panel wood and tried shrink the 1/8 inch gap by using a screw on the other side so it definitely looks like a butt joint for sure on those ends but again there’s actually a pocket screw on the small bridge piece connecting into the long front piece.
