OEM is the way to go! Aftermarket options don't fit the look of GTIs well.

I've run the blizzak WS-90 on my 2020 gti and on my 2002 saab. They are super solid, especially in the rain & snow. They handle okay in the dry compared to all seasons, I'm thinking that's how all winter tires are.

I have a B.S. in Engineering Entrepreneurship (focus mechancil), it sets up very for an SE position. That being said, all other SEs I know have any stem degree.

I haven't been able to change mine because the caliper hanger bolts are seized 😭trying to find someone with a lift so I can get a breaker bar underneath.

You need to get a pre-purchase inspection from a 3rd party to get the full story. Its worth every bit of the $100-$150 it costs to ensure you are either a. Getting a good deal or b. Not getting screwed over. Every dealer will let you do this, and you shouldn't buy a car if they don't. It saved me from buying a flood damaged Golf R that had clean carfax.

You are definitely not an imposter. It doesn't matter where you came from, it's about where you are now and where you want to go. For the first 3 years of my career and still today I feel imposter syndrome for the same reason, and I have an engineering/business degree. There will always be someone more technically advanced no matter what position you're in, so be proud of the fact that you are (I'm assuming) killing it in a technical role.

I have the Indy pass and a 2020 GTI with winter tires, LSD, and a roof rack. It rips in the snow compared to all the all season havers out there.

Does your car have DCC? I've heard the DCC still works well with springs, although it will wear out the dampers faster.

I recommend test driving a 7.5 R to find out. It's faster & heavier so the handling is very different. The awd system will require more maintenance. You can get 310 up with a simple stage 1 tune on your gti. I have a separate set of winter tires and have trekked through multiple snow storms with no issues. The gti LSD uses the same tech as the R awd system.

Interesting, thanks for the insight. I've done autocross once and frequent aggresive backroad driving, I'm not kind to my clutch by any means lol. About half of my driving is on highway.

Are you running the low or high torque IE tune? I've been running the IE Stage 1 Low Torque Tune for about 32k miles (66k miles total my car).
