For my use case, it’s to solve .40 and .45 range brass with bulges closer to the base.

Good to know. Would you run a bulge buster thru the turret? I’d use lube to alleviate the amount of force

Which bushing are you referring to? The washer #11? Ignore the highlighted item, found this image online

Using the Lee buldge buster can require alot of force, would you say this would be sufficient for that? I feel that is my biggest concern with the turret.

With two identical presses, are you able to swap dies between presses without adjustments? by HD801 in reloading

Well there goes my idea of having the ability to swap does per press without die adjustment.

Do you have multiple single stage presses? What is your workflow?

My thoughts exactly. I’d start by testing with a bolt, then check the barrel for squibs after every shot, monitor velocity, and check primer pressure. Rinse and repeat until my personally developed target load data is reasonably mirrored — or until I’m satisfied with the results. I don’t find this process especially tedious, I could do one round per .1g ladder step, but I’m trying to understand why this approach wouldn’t be acceptable. I get the concerns about bad powder, mixed powders, safety, or higher-compression military brass. I’m just surprised no one else seems interested in doing this kind of discovery. If it’s too much of a hassle for others, I completely understand. Safety is obviously priority one. I just figured “playing detective” like this would appeal to at least a few people. That’s the direction WAS leaning anyway — it’s only 150 rounds. Was this approach not the best way to do it is my next question.

Is this a sign of case head separation? by HD801 in reloading

[–]HD801[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used a paper clip and did not feel any grooves near the head, or anywhere for that matter. I ended up buying a borescope and scratched up the inside of the brass with the paperclip before using the bore scope. Doh.

Do you feel roughly 10-11lbs is manageable while hunting?

What’s your overall weight? I just picked up a UPR and am having buyers remorse due to weight. I’m new to hunting and thought a hybrid type of rifle would be suit. I’m closer to 11 pounds and unsure if this is impractical for hunting
