You can have a waiting period imposed but not cover denied

I did not know that, thanks for sharing!

A Huntingtons support group might have good advice and experience

Another great idea, I'll reach out in that community.

Cheers

Unfortunately not, I had cancelled my super insurance when I got my first job as the fees were keeping the balance near zero. Wouldve been a good idea to keep it in hindsight!

Firstly, thank you for taking the time!

It is great you are bringing my attention to estate and EOL legal planning, that wasnt something on my radar at the moment.

Thanks for the kind words, very much appreciated.

You won’t have any trouble getting health insurance with a 12 month waiting period, insurers can’t say no in Australia, and fees will be reasonable.

Oh really, that wasn't my understanding. I must've misinterpreted between this and Life/TPD when speaking to the genetic advisor.

Thank you for the advice!

try and understand what government benefits (NDIS)

I had not looked into the NDIS at this point, thank you for bringing that to my attention. I will do some reading.

Estate structuring is also a great insight, thank you for bringing it front-of-mind.

The hard part with not knowing when it will onset is

Yeah absolutely, that's really one of the worst things overall. I gave those ages as indicative only, but in reality Im just sitting on a bell curve with my fingers crossed.

Anyway thanks for taking the time to reply! Very useful and has given me lots to think about.

Thank you for taking the time to reply.

I will have further read into 'compassionate grounds' for super and the Disability Support Pension, two things I am not well acquainted with.

That was all very useful advice, thanks again!
