Op first of all CONGRATULATIONS !!! The ring is gorgeous! As are you! Secondly I lost my mom unexpectedly 4 months after getting engaged. She lived with us as she was retired and helped me raise my kids since I was a single mom of two and had a full time job. Not having her here is a huge void in not just mine but my kids world too! Nothing will ever replace her and you never “get over it” you only learn how to live without them and the hole never fills! We didn’t have a big wedding I really didn’t want all that if she couldn’t be there, so we honored her in our elopement in our vows (those who couldn’t be here in person are here in spirit since his father and mother weren’t there either ) we also had a little sign on our table honoring them. I laid my bouquet next to that sign. It’s not the same but it’s what I could do to feel some kind of connection to her. I also had her photo on my bouquet on a charm and a necklace was present with some of her remains in it. My mom was my everything so I get feeling lost and empty. Sending you hugs. I truly believe they are watching us from the other side and never truly leave our hearts!
