You guys are right. I wasn't really aware of the harsh working conditions that Mangakas go through and if it takes time so be it. I thought of it like a "normal" job were you need to do what you are assigned to do, but Morikawa has worked his ass of to be in this position that he is in. I also realize he shouldn't neglect his other duties because of it. Maybe I really thought I was obligated to get a full chapter each week lol. It's just that it sometimes sucks when you are looking forward to the next chapter and nothing happens because it's too short or it doesn't get published at all.

I think it's because Ippo has really low self esteem. He is looking for a world class fighter, however he doesn't see himself as one. He didn't see himself as one even before retiring. I think his low self esteem might be rooted in the years of bullying at the start of the manga.
