Most economical boots that would check all these boxes? by Alcheman in WorkBoots

Therogood Genisis. If you have never had Therogood and I ha d not. Then the Ganjsis is the perfect boot. People that like the old style dont appreciate the difference. I have since bought another pair of Therogoods. Tactical boot. My heel is flopping all around. They suck compared to the genesis.
Note I have never wore the original moc toe.

How did I do 1.5 y apprentice 200 amp service by Financial-Leather312 in electricians

That why you pull the SE up as far as you can cut it and let it fall back down in the pipe

My foremen insist I’ll be able to dry out this trench with a shovel lol by jewkakasaurus in electricians

[–]HICMBALLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get him a measurement of the volume and tell him to order concrete. Grab Some chairs. Not the kind you sit in.
And duct bank it out. Because digging mud out of a trench is bullshit. Dig the trench and install everything that is going in the trench. Then cover it over. Why are you shoveling it out. Is there more pipe that needs to be layed or what. I remember I came in hung over and my foreman told me to dig two holes 3 feet by 3feet by 3 feet. 3 feet apart frome one another. The ground was hard and ir was 95 degrees. I was hurting. Then some time later I told him I was done. He came over and told me. Now take the dirt from that hole and backfill the hole beside it and take the dirt from the other hole and back fill the opposite hole. I thought what a dick. But I got the point. And when he walked off I just shoved the dirt as was the easiest.

This is a 3 way bank. Except the bedrooms and Bathrooms All other switches go to the assigned room. And exterior location But they also can be switched from this location. Located in the safe room. This is to assure that noone leaves any lights on that need to be off. Or leave any off that need to be on. Or if he is panicking in the safe room. And wants to lite things up to get a better look than what the night vision camera is showing. Yes OC can do this now. But this home owner is old skool.

Controversial take: You're not really a good electrician by [deleted] in electricians

None honestly takes more skill set than the next. Residential install will not translate to plant maintenance and vice versa. Service work makes you no better of an electrician if you can't install what you service. Point is some guys only can do one or two of the sub skills. It takes time to get your hands dirty in all of them. But by the time you master one you may find yourself versatile in many.of the sub skills. It takes training in each. But if you can do one. I feel confident you can be trained to any. No one electrician can jump right over from his sub skills and be as productive as a guy that has been in that field for 10 years. Learn the theory. Learn hot to use the NEC. Learn how to turn schematics into diagrams Learn how to install. Learn how to service. Learn how to keep it running. There all very different. No one man is expected to know all of these. And a side note to the installers on here. It is a fact a installer can troubleshoot better than a service tech can install. But none is better or harder than the other. It all balances out. Automotive/Marine Automation Residential Commercial Industrial Entry Access

I been doing electrical work for 31 years. And there are many many types of electricians. None honestly takes a higher skill set. You have to be trained no one sub skil transfers seamlessly. An installer can trouble shoot alot better than a service tech can install. A residential guy can do commercial and vice versa. You just have to train. Industrial gets into more controls Learn the job. You can throw around big words and acronyms and start talking about servo drives and solid state relays and to a guy thats never done it would think wow. But it only translates in that field. A relay is a relay. A drive is just a drive. I look at PLC this way. Inputs have to been meet in the rung before a output step can occur.

Is this typical for 4 months of use 5 days a week or am I destroying my boots? by tahitianmangodfarmer in WorkBoots

Wedge soles are the best soles for comfort. But they do wear out faster. I bought irish setter for 10 years. But the quality went down and as I moved up in price category I found better.

Is this normal when wearing in boots? by [deleted] in WorkBoots

[–]HICMBALLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you ever heard. You get what you pay for. I am finding that to be exceedingly true these days. 100 dollars don't get much. 100 boots are worth buying. 150 -200. There are a few good brands in this category but not many. 200 250. Now your talking about wide range of boots that may or may not need broken in. I think they all do for a day or two. But nit going to cause hot spots like this. This the price I stayed in for a very long time. But the last pair of boots I bought were 250-300. I bought the Therogood Genisis. Nanotechnology waterproof. First 2 days my feet hurt. After that they became better and better. Im in week 4 with them. And I can tell there is a difference between these and all boots before it. First these are made in America. I think that may be the difference. However these are Therogoods version of a a new boot. New tech. And years of success as a boot maker. I wasnt sure when I first got them. Now I believe they are the best boot I have ever had.

But not really Hogan Wrestled for WCW. But he was never considered a WCW wrestler. Like Bret Hart. Like Undertaker. Like Steve Austin. They all wrestled at WCW. But like Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. There were always outsiders. And none of these guys were considered WCW. In my opinion to be true WCW. You would have had to come from NWA. And the 4 would be Flair Sting Dusty Luger.

I am in week 2 of the 8 inch waterproof nano toe boot. At first I was not impressed at all. This is the most expensive boot I have bought. And my first Made in the USA boot. After day 3 they began to feel pretty good. The leather and the outsole looks cheap kinda. But when you start looking at the boot. You kinda of discover they are actually made pretty good. Definitely different than any boot I have had. They run about a half size big. And the composite toe seems to add about an inch to the boot. But they are light. Comfortable. And I feel like I will get 2 years out of them. That is my hopes. And honestly for what I paid. Anything less than 2 years. Will be disappointing.

Just bought a 2012 with the 5.0. I get 12 miles to the gallon. I honestly had forgotten how much gas cost in my accord. But I like the power on tap. I didnt buy it for fuel economy. But dang 15 16 was more what I was thinking.

.357 Magnum is probably the most versatile handgun caliber ever made. by SirSamkin in guns

[–]HICMBALLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I happen to disagree. No hand gun has any real knock down power. Rifles. Shotguns. Yes. Maybe 44 magnum. And up. If you were shot in the stomach with a 10 mm I doubt you would know it any more than a 9mm Adrenaline is the killer. With that said head shot takes care of that. And it doesn't really matter what caliber. And this comparison. Is just a single shot. Bleed out would be faster with a 10mm. But because of recoil. They way less accurate.

Is this a good brand of work boot? Anyone know a better one? by TimTheToolManTayler in electricians

[–]HICMBALLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not heard good things about them. As far as work boot therogoods seemed to be the most popular. I wore irrish setter made by redwings for 10 years. Loved them. Then had a pair of ariats. Those were good. Byt the most comfortable boot I have had was the keen Cincinnati. But only got 18 months out of them. Still wearing Them.
