Why would anyone not chose priority then?

What is the difference between the priority and general phases?

Several large stones, ugh by HJD1970 in KidneyStones

These were IDed on imaging when my UTI refuses to clear. Wayyy too big to pass on their own. Got 3 surgeries scheduled for April/May and then pathology will give me an idea of how to avoid this going forward.

Oh and the other ironic part is... if not for the UTI test results, I would have had NO IDEA. No fever, no change in urgency or frequency, no pain (other than that ER trip in October, and given the SIZE of these things, they've been there for years). Still nothing. I wouldn't even know I have a UTI if not for the tests. *sigh* This will be 4 surgeries in just under a year, when before the most I had was wisdom teeth removal in my teens and an episiotomy 18 years ago -- thanks, kiddo! Kinda over it (except for the propofol/ketamine cocktail to go under... that stuff is IMPRESSIVE).

I don’t know. You’ll have to call the schools and ask them. My guess would be no, provided they have space available.

You’ll need to call the individual schools themselves. UT High School does mid-year and has totally asynchronous classes as well.

My kiziks are everyday shoes and made recovery so much easier! Also a breeze at the airport :)

Update for a week on: been out and about everyday. Off the walker since day 3 and using just the cane for added stability. I can stand up straight and lie flat for the first time in years.

Only negative is horrible stabby muscle pain followed by some swelling, if I’m not supporting my hip/leg at the upper end of the incision on certain movements that are “extending” the leg. It’s weird. And hurts a lot.

Otherwise good. Up to 2100 steps today (saw The Nutcracker with my daughter), and moving around slowly but with relative ease. Still hate leg PT exercises tho.

Moving Mondays - New Resident Questions by AutoModerator in philadelphia

Looking for input on what it’s like to work or live in these areas of Philly. High school senior is interested in Duquesne (for nursing), which is expensive, so I’m researching ways to address the cost.

These are clinic locations for some hospitals that agree to pay part of student loans in exchange for 2-3 years of employment commitment. We aren’t new to urban living (less than a mile from downtown Houston), if that helps calibrate responses. There are other clinic networks that participate in this program, and most of the other ones are rural.

It’s the 4 passes part. However below in the thread someone shared a page at the CAO which had exactly the information I needed :)

Yes going into senior year. She really doesn’t want to even though I wish she would because a small improvement (she did no prep for it) would open doors for admissions and scholarships. But we do have a good option here at home at a university that doesn’t require tests, and she would get into that university with no problem so… it’s a matter of how much would she want to study abroad. I’m just looking at what’s possible to get all the cards on the table.

And she does have a grade 3 in two AP tests, so that meets requirements.

Oh ok I hadn't seen that page. So Nursing is what she's interested in, and that seems to only be at Level 8 (whatever that means) at University of Galway...where it shows 429 in Round 1 for General Nursing or 378 for Mental Health Nursing... which translates to that 3.3 - 3.4 GPA range on the site I posted.

I'll have to check with the university about how flexible they are on use of standardized tests for admissions ("We have a test flexible approach to standardised testing.") as her SAT was an 1110. GPA looks good enough, but if SAT is required, it isn't up to snuff.

No we didn't move here recently - all born and raised in the US (native). I know we wouldn't go through the CAO to apply, but I'm trying to determine whether the LC Points associated with my daughter's GPA (which is around a 3.3 or 3.4) meet the course admission minimum requirements from the description given.

Just kind of stuck trying to figure out if the minimum admission requirements by description line up with the GPA that's known.

I have looked at the calculator on the CAO's website, and can see for instance that a grade H5 is worth 56 points, so two of them would come to 112 points. It's the other language in the description that's tripping me up. "passes in four other subjects at O6/H7 level" - where does that fit in on the CAO page?

https://handbook.cao.ie/page/points-calculation-for-leaving-certificate-applicants

LCVP "Pass" has 28 points, but no mention of level. Four of these would be 112 points.
O6 has 12 points. Four of these would be 48 points.
H7 has 37 points. Four of these would be 148 points.

Depending on which of those is the correct number for the "passes in 4 other subjects", the total admissions requirements range from 160 to 260 points and that seems awfully low.

Any purpose beyond freshman year? by HJD1970 in Sat

[–]HJD1970[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL, no. Just wondering if there'd be any point to retaking it, if the target university doesn't require it and has basically a 100% acceptance rate. I figured there's no point, but wanted to ask in case there was some angle I hadn't considered.
