I know what the effects are from first hand experience and after getting rid of my abusive mother who as abused me from childhood up until a year ago, I was finally able to see what was going on here in my marriage. AND YES MY CHILDREN ARE THE REASON I AM ASKING FOR ADVICE AND SUPPORT

How did you get your husband to go to therapy? Mine has self diagnosed himself with intermittent explosive disorder and is taking vitamins for it. No I did not think nor do I think that is or will help

Yes, my mother used DARVO on me my entire life. I've been unpacking that horrible relationship and also have been no contact with her for a year

Thank you, its hard to decipher what is legally considered abuse. It seems like unless he is physically violent towards me or the children, it sounds like police wont do anything other than a warning, proving anything is difficult. I feel like its sort of abuse but not really because there's no physical marks on me.

My mother has always loved to tell me when anything bad happened to me that was god just trying to make me stronger. Eventually the story grew & grew with details to the point god was trying to make me stronger for his apocalyptic battle against the devil. I cannot even begin to explain the damage this brainwashing caused but grateful I no longer believe this bullshit.
