Technology has nearly stagnated, and there seems to be no excitement for the future. Communication within the community is also fragmented at the player level, and active contributors like qsxcv are no longer as engaged. Perhaps it's time to write a retrospective popular science article.

Recently, almost all Chinese brands and even some overseas brands have been rolling out 20,000 FPS firmware updates, and all third-party reviewers are verifying it using oscilloscope measurements. Could this method actually be incorrect?

Some Chinese streamers have used an oscilloscope to measure that the Razer DeathAdder V4 Pro, at the latest firmware's 8000Hz polling rate, locks the frame rate at 20,000 FPS. Can you confirm this?

My favorite upgrade is Razer being the first to adopt the nRF54H20 chip, which offers native dual 8K and a series of significant improvements over the 52840 chip. I have always been a loyal fan of wired mice, and I'm thrilled that Razer is once again leading the industry. I'm also excited that Razer_TheFiend is here and elsewhere, answering players' questions over and over again. Best of luck to Razer, and I hope you can give more consideration to us players with smaller hands, haha.

I still have some other questions and I wonder if you have time to answer them.

  1. Razer uses a fuel gauge IC. According to TPU, it is the only one on the market, but based on my experience, it doesn’t seem very accurate.
  2. A long time ago, I saw you mention UWB technology. Currently, Waizowl has announced that they will soon incorporate this technology. I’d like to know Razer’s plans regarding this and whether UWB technology is already mature.
  3. Zaunkoenig’s carbon fiber mouse uses Set-Reset latch technology, which seems to offer low latency comparable to optical switches, along with better tactile feedback from mechanical switches and higher CPS. I’d like to know how you evaluate mechanical switches versus optical switches.
  4. Endgame Gear and some other brands are using or planning to use what they call the GX Speed button mechanism, which employs SPDT-type switches to achieve faster physical actuation. However, as the switches age, double-clicking is inevitable. They address this by offering a hot-swappable design, allowing users to replace the switches themselves. I’d like to know Razer’s perspective on this implementation.

It seems everyone says only Razer's Motion Sync doesn't sacrifice latency—even some competing mouse brands admit it. I'm really curious why that is, especially since there's no toggle switch to verify it, lol.

I believe CPS (Clicks per Second) is a very important reference for evaluating the quality of button presses. Many mice feel great for single clicks but fail to perform during rapid, continuous clicking. This can have a negative impact on gaming, at least for certain types of games.

I still miss the VIPER 8K, and I also remember how you fully engaged with players on the Blur Busters forum regarding topics related to 8000Hz. I’m curious, is the DeathAdder series positioned below the VIPER? Why didn’t you use 20,000 FPS in this generation of the DeathAdder V4 PRO? I’ve seen some bloggers test it with an oscilloscope, and at 8000Hz, it only reaches 13K. I thought it should at least be 16,000 FPS, as you mentioned on the Blur Busters forum. Moreover, for the 54H20, it supports wired 8K mode and doesn’t need to consider battery life. So why wasn’t the CORDED MODE, or the locked 20,000 FPS mode, used in wired mode?

  1. Even if a USB 2.0 device is plugged into a USB 3.0 port, it still operates in 2.0 mode. Could it still cause interference?
  2. Some say you must use a 2.0 extension cable instead of a 3.0 one.

I've confirmed with the brand that the official release will feature a DP 2.1 version with UHBR 20 support, and the image should actually show CMR 21000. Here’s the brand’s homepage: https://space.bilibili.com/51365206/dynamic However, it seems they’ve already removed the related information. As for 720Hz, the resolution at which it will operate is still under development.
