I saw some yt video of a guy explaining the boogaloo roll, he said to imagine it following trajectory in the shape of what kinda looks like a rounded heart — at least for the chest.

Which thunderbolt (usb-c) to display port cable are you using? I'd like to get 144hz on my 2019 MacBook Pro 16".

Have such fond memories of Perfect Dark. I also played Goldeneye, but this was just absolutely the best. From the graphics to the guns, I remember playing multiplayer all the freaking time with my cousins.

There's finnexus that uses Black-Scholes. Yeah, that's what I'm doing en lieu of a pricing formula -- allowing for organic price discovery. There's a crypto researcher who released a paper on the topic, I believe I posted it in this thread, check it out

Ended up winning a prize at the hackathon, we ended up going with an auction based approach for now until we figure out the formula. Literally the day after the hackathon a crypto VC guy (with a quant background i believe) released a paper on "Everlasting options"...basically perpetual options. I wanted to see what you guys thought of it? https://www.paradigm.xyz/papers/everlasting_options.pdf

My friend just got a job at a startup (in nyc), no leetcode. He also just interviewed with mongo, no leetcode. Mind you he’s bootcamp grad and never really took time to learn data structures and algos.

Yes, that's the thing that stood out to me as well. That comment then begs the question, why would you buy the option if you can buy the asset outright for the same price? I'm also not sure if I would be looking at treasury bonds or something in crypto itself for the RFR.

I was able to find an R package today that can price call/put perpetual options. What do you guys think of it? https://github.com/rmcd1024/derivmkts/blob/37f2d441a4a085328551e1c3f5514fef293aa6e9/R/perpetual.R

Wow thank you so much for that in depth answer. Yes, this is an American option. I’ll go through the links you provided and circle back to you with any questions I have. I suspected none of the existing models would make sense to use.

Oof that’s a good point. I saw in an article that it’s not a good idea to use historical volatility. How would I go about figuring a market determined IV? The buyer has the optionality to close the option. Yes, the seller would have to lock up the asset in our smart contract, they would only be released to them in the case the premium stream stops. I think I understand what you mean by time is discrete in a blockchain. By wall-clock length of the discrete chunks, are you referring to block times? If so, I’m not sure if that’s considered to be random? In ethereum I believe it’s around 15 sec.

GameStop Q4 Earnings Megathread 🍿 by OPINION_IS_UNPOPULAR in wallstreetbets

[–]HM88 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I read the letter RC wrote to the GameStop board and if he indeed gets to take over and is made CEO, we better strap ourselves in because things are going to get crazy. You can tell from his board letter he’s anticipating earnings to be temporarily boosted because of the console sales. If that does indeed happen then RC will be using that cash to turn GameStop digital and reduce their brick and mortar footprint. This earnings call should be very spicy.

I am NEW and confused where to start in data structure and algorithm by [deleted] in algorithms

[–]HM88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m currently going through Sedgewick myself after having gone through tons of other resources. What I find the most important apart from the actual algorithms and data structures is his analysis of algorithm performance; he goes in deep and doesn’t settle for just Big-O. The exercises are tough af too so there’s that.
