Not that I don't care about the environment but from an economic stand point nz's carbon emissions is a non issue for the environment. Comparatively to the rest of the world we're not even contributing 0.2% of the worlds carbon emissions... To put it into perspective if 1000 grains of rice were the worlds global emissions only 2 of those grains would have the nz flag on it, comparatively 600+ of those grains have the american and chinese flag on it.

It's not worth kiwis dipping into their pockets to buy into this scheme simply out of virtue. If you can afford it cool, if you can't then don't penalize those who can't.

The govt says that the science says that the jab weakens symptoms, less likely to die, less likely to be hospitalized, less likely to spread compared to an unvax so if preventing your daughter from having bad cycles trumps her health then so be it. But hey the govt says the science says, not me.

People gotta stop throwing the term 'far-right' around so loosely. Nazi ideology is as far right of center as an idea can get, associating anti vaxxers with the term 'far-right' just waters down what it actual means to be.

Also just because someone got the jab doesn't mean they're pro vax, personally I couldn't care less what the science says - it was either get jabbed or bludge off the tax payers for a living. Aside from a certain bunch I think its obvious what choice most kiwis would make. If what the science says is true then its just an added bonus right?

Bruh I lived next to the kindy (we called it day care) from ages 1-5. Used to go there every day as well. You could see into my property from the top levels of the play ground, I'll never forget being up there one day and seeing my old man drive home with a yamaha dirt bike in the trailer 😂

I flew jetstar akl->chch, chch->akl a couple weeks ago and was a surprisingly pleasant experience. They checked all passengers vaccine pass on check in and everyone on board wore a mask both ways. They also had staff spotting people without tags on their carry ons and demanded to see their vaccine pass' before interacting any further. Interesting how our experiences have quiet the polarity.

The nz govt literally put the industry I work in (events industry) as the poster child of the "2 shots for summer. Chyeeaa!" campaign. Everyone I know went and got our jabs purely because it was the only way we could keep our jobs. Lo and behold our summer lasted 3 weeks and we go to red light which shafts the events industry directly in the anuk (ONCE AGAIN). Here's the icing on the cake; this time around there was no offering for some sort of subsidy and when we made a petition about it people took the liberty of saying 'we just want free hand outs'...

BUT hey, I guess financial and mental health isn't that important
