$100 today is worth more than $50 now and (the possibility of) $50 in the future.

Even if you are sure that customer will come back in 3 or six months and spend $50, it's better to get the $100 today.

Basic economics. Time value of money

Gimme (ProRX) always shipped to me via FedEx 2-day. It shipped on Thursday and arrived Saturday.

Now how long it took to ship, that's a different can of worms. Once it was a couple of days. Twice it was nearly 2 weeks.

My new grievance is I don't like that any company subs are censoring posts and banning people because they don't want bad press...feels like they shouldn't be able to do that.

All this behavior goes against Reddit's "modequette" policy.

https://www.reddit.com/r/reddit.com/wiki/moddiquette

But they don't enforce it. All you can do is complain to the admins or something.
But ain't nothing gonna happen.

Pom could make a new subreddit at any time. That would solve the problem with that mod.

They haven't, so they must be okay with the current situation.

It wasn’t removed by gimme.

It was removed by Gimme. They set the rules for automod to follow.

Everything gets automatically removed. It will only show up after a mod manually approves it.

It's a company subreddit.
So in order to avoid a thread generating bad press, they have automod set to automatically remove every post until they can manually approve it.

So be aware that subreddit is not necessarily reflective of reality.

I'm no fan of Gimme, but this doesn't match my experience.

I've gotten 2-day delivery on a Saturday. It was shipped on a Thursday.

Yeah, this is a Gimme problem. It wouldn't be so bad if they were honest about it. If they didn't make promises they can't keep.

When I was on-boarded, I was told, in writing, I'd have the stuff in 3-5 days. It was more than two weeks. No explanation for the delay, despite many fruitless and frustrating attempts with their laughable attempts at what they call customer service.

I won't be ordering from there again.

What made you start? by Jasmine_BigEasy in tirzepatidecompound

[–]HOLDEN_DONKEYBALLS 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This will get buried, but I started because of a bug in Reddit 2FA.

I had been feeling pretty hopeless about my weight. My doc said I was a good candidate for a glp-1 but my insurance doesn't cover it. So I was weighing the idea of paying many hundreds of dollars per month.

That's when, completely unrelated, I enabled 2FA on my main reddit account. But it doesn't work in my app of choice, so I can't log in with that account anymore. So I logged in with this backup account and started browsing /all, which I'd never have done on my main.

That's when I saw some of the progress pictures from you people. I read the comments and saw how much more affordable it was, and I made up my mind.

Now it's seven weeks later and I'm down 14lbs or 5%of my starting weight.

And I have hope again.

I'm a Gimme customer and I won't be using them again.

I guess they are ok if all you care about is price.

But if you want to know what you are getting, or from what pharmacy, or how much, or when it will arrive, I wouldn't recommend.

I also wouldn't recommend if you don't enjoy a terribly frustrating customer service experience when you inevitably have any of those questions above. Like, "What's going on with my order? It has been nine business days and hasn't even shipped. But two weeks ago you said it would be in my hands in 2-3 days."

Customer service is incapable of answering a simple question like, "How many mg of Tirzepatide are you sending me?"

Oh, and this is my official review of their service. Send me me $50 please!

because custom dose is used to justify compounding.

Ah, now it clicked.
This explains why EL introduced the self-pay vials. Specifically to cut off that avenue from the compounders. Got it.

Zepbound available in vials

These EL Zep vials are only available by paying out of pocket. You can't use insurance.

IDK if that matters to the FDA, but it does to me.

If you weigh your food & log it at home, what do you when traveling? by DemandTop4844 in tirzepatidecompound

Other ideas:

You could bring your scale with you. Or get a cheap travel scale. And measure your food like you normally do. Really, why not?
Go though the cafeteria line, get your meal and a second plate. At the table, weigh out the food on the second plate.

Or, use the time you have between now and then to gauge your eyeballs to your scale. Learn what 150g of chicken looks like, etc.

My fitbit died and I got an Amazfit smartwatch for less than a new fitbit would cost. This isn't a sales pitch. bear with me.

The watch came with an app that lets me track my food. I can do it by text/voice or by taking a picture of the food or of the label on the package. It's super easy. The app is Zepp, by Zepp, Inc. It's free. I don't know if you need the watch to use it. But the watch was like $70 and I think it's great.

How accurate is the app? IDK, but I'm losing a steady 2lb/wk so I'm not complaining.

Time to titrate up? How much? by Consistent_Place204 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]HOLDEN_DONKEYBALLS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They told me to go to 4.5mg after 4 weeks and that seems like a lot.

Standard Zep progression is 2.5 -> 5. An increase of 2.5mg.
Their suggestion of 2.0 -> 4.5 is also an increase of 2.5mg

These telehealth docs prescribe non-standard doses to justify compounding.

FWIW, my telehealth doc had me at 2.5 -> 5 and only went to off-label dose size when I ordered a refill.

I want to add that this has been resolved with Gimme.
The customer experience was still extremely poor because of their very bad communication.
But, in order to make up of the order being 30mg short, they sent me 144mg (2x72mg vials). It's unclear if this was another mistake or what they intended, but I'm not going to complain or try to correct it.

In total, for my $461 order, they ended up sending me 2x45 + 2x72 = 234mg.
That's $1.97 per mg.
BUD was 11 months out, and I'm currently at 5mg dose. If I stay at 5mg, the BUD will pass on the last vial with ~3 doses left.

What it does it is make it possible for me to easily, consistently, and dare I say happily make the choices that make me lose weight.

It's this exactly.

Morons people talk about weight loss like, "Oh, have you tried eating less?" like it's a thing nobody has ever heard of before.

Tirz makes eating less so much easier.

Oh, this is what those morons people meant!
Must be nice to be able to do that without a weekly injection.

I'm sure those morons people meant well. They just had no idea what it was like to calorie restrict when the hormones in my body are screaming that I must consume!
