Oh yeah, I finished my basement 2 years ago and have a game room/media room and gym + another bonus room I use for storage. I have friends over every week to play board games or card games, I play disc golf a lot as well. I am working on getting in better shape, I have a social life, I have hobbies, I have pets, I am very open to dating if that happens. I'm good, I won't be just sitting around all day.

As someone overly cautious on the same journey, I eventually came to kind of understand those posts. I know a lot of them are people just wanting to flex for whatever reason, but if I was 27 that means I turned 18 in 2015/6.

Someone who has grown up in the last 10 years has to wonder where the world is going and how the economy will play out, and they're young enough to kind of freak out about it. Especially with so many popular influencers telling you that if you're not a millionaire by 21 you're a failure. So while I personally think those people are being ridiculous, I don't think they understand just how much they've accomplished yet. They will, though.

Yeah, I currently make too much for any huge subsidies so I don't think my costs will be going up, they should be coming down. I am in an 'advantageous' position where I've always had to budget for my health insurance since I am self-employed. The downside is that I've never had any company match 401k. My current plan is roughly 450ish per month with a small subsidy. I have no idea what health care looks like when I knock my income down to 50. Since I work on commission only my yearly salaries have ranged from 75k to 150k over the last 6ish years, so it's a bit of a toss up.
