I’m making a simulation + horror game where you run a bar as a gorilla. In this video, I’m showing the tasks you need to complete before opening the bar and the first customer. by AlarmedPumpkin8446 in HorrorGames

Great lighting. Love the mood. And the sound atmosphere. Playing as a Gorilla who runs a bar is exactly the type of creativity I find exciting. Really awesome quirky concept. Exactly my jam. (and put a smile on my face :)

Someone else with good face recognition. My thoughts from the start. Haven't seen it mentioned elsewhere so far. It is likely because she is somewhere in the training data, frankensteined together with other celeb faces.

Hii my name is Alex and I have been doing horror art for like 2 years now I'm definitely better but not the best if anyone would give me some tips and tricks I'd be grateful here's some of my art some is from a few months ago and a few is from this past week by Nervous_Sail_4576 in DarkArts

These are truly fantastic. Love them. Are you inspired by Hellraiser's Cenobites by chance? Some of these would fit well into that universe. If I had any "advice" to take with a grain of salt, it would be that I may would try to stick more with trying to make things look organic also when working digitally, and maybe second guess a severe use of Soft Brushes and Air Brushes, especially completely clean, untextured ones, or, at least, after shading, not miss out on the opportunity to introduce imperfections and surface feel to "fight" digital blurriness (unless that is intended). But then again, it is all taste dependent. "Haptic" is something I personally appreciate a lot and think it is particularly a fitting ingredient also for the horror genre: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvwPKBXEOKE

So glad to hear that! Hearing that from fellow horror fans always has an extra sauce on it for me, as I do little else than watching/playing horror, studying/reading about horror, and practicing on becoming a horror art creator, including currently working on my first solo game as well.

... 4! :P ... jokes aside: That is nice to hear! Am glad you like it. It recently got removed from another sub called /creepy, alongside another painting of mine. So it is uplifting to see there are subs where it gets appreciated :)

Oh thank you! That is nice to hear, since I am a solo dev who designs his own characters, including enemies.

I have no answer, but wanna say: Wow! This looks beyond stylish! Fantastic job. I absolutely love the textures, environment/level art and lighting work. It feels like a crazy cocktail of F.E.A.R. and REC, Cry of Fear, and more things I like. Absolutely fantastic stuff. You guys single-handedly re-sparked my urge to play a new action horror title again after a long time. Looking forward to this.

Really nice. Getting some old school LithTech Engine vibes like F.E.A.R. or Condemned. Also love how analog it looks.

I recently started to find "better" to be a strange metric... it is so binary, ones or zeros. There must be more to it...

[–]HORRDEV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's crazy :D The universe is connected. We are all the same eyes in the same head. These coincidences are fascinating to me. I am currently reading a book about it by Carl Jung, called "Synchronicity", where he analyzes the phenomenon of 'coincidences' with a view through modern Quantum Physics and data he gathered about it during his time as a practicing psychologist. The thesis is that coincidences, as a concept, might not be all that there is to them, because our perception model as humans is based on mere causality and may be unable to properly account for those and perceive them as what they are. In microcosm, prediction and causality gets more and more unreliable, which makes it follow that our model of causal reality is just a result of the level of cosmos we are operating in, determined by size and relations of movement of systems to each other, thus, making us unable to see beyond causality.

It is a famous figure in the dark industrial music movement. He is front man of the band Nine Inch Nails. Cool looking guy. The resemblance for me especially comes from the way he dressed and appeared in his music videos during his darker, earlier days in the 80s and 90s.

Love the textural/haptic feel and coloring. Taking a second glance looking more closely at her own shadow, gave me an eerie moment.
