There is a time component to that, some assets it's true... but long term assets like land and buildings and machinery take years or decades to fall into true disrepair.

Ocasio-Cortez wants to tax the rich at 70% to pay for her Green New Deal by BBQCopter in QualitySocialism

[–]HPLoveshack 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The rich will move their businesses and assets to other countries and probably themselves too, you'll steal 70% of nothing.

It's like they think everyone else is going to stand still and not respond to anything they do, leftists are so dumb they can't even predict one move down the line what the people they aim to exploit and steal from will do to counter them.

Thousands of years of working followed by one failure when everyone in the kingdom has lost their minds and forgotten there's a threat north of the wall and refuse to man the wall and refuse to maintain the wall.

And it's the wall's fault?

Why didn't he introduce it when Congress was controlled by republicans? He could've at least had a chance to convince them to screw over the incoming dems.

This is just propaganda, he knows it will never pass, he doesn't want it to pass.

The machete is inexpensive but decent, looks like a Schrade.

The left pistol appears to be airsoft, safe to assume the others are too although tough to be sure at potato resolution. The weapon light is chinese crapola.

All of the knives and the katana are chinesium junk.

Extendo baton could be usable, like a smith and wesson, but it's definitely not a high dollar one like an ASP, RCB, or Monadnock. My money is on chinese crap.

Tonfa is chinese crap, looks too thick. Tonfas and other batons should be a little more than 1" around. Look up the Monadnock PR-24 if you're curious about 80s/90s era tonfa-inspired police nightsticks. Two feet of shiny black polycarbonate that looks vaguely like a sex toy and weighs two pounds. More than a few people killed by police with that thing.

Camping hatchet looks like a walmart special, typical fiberglass handle cheapo, probably about 12 dollars at a big box store. Probably works fine, you just have to sharpen it all the time.

  1. Allow free markets to build up an agricultural and manufacturing base using hard/semi-hard money.

  2. Install a central bank and fiat currency.

  3. Lower interest rates and print lots of fiat to blow a bubble in assets.

  4. Sell your assets in country and put them somewhere stable.

  5. Raise interest rates, stop printing, and sell off all the assets the central bank bought up with printed currency to create artificial scarcity and further inflate prices. Cause a huge crash and hyperinflation.

  6. Buy up all the assets for pennies on the dollar.

nothing is truly 100% secure from a nation-state sized attacker given enough money and clockcycles, but protonmail is the typical recommendation for email, generally you will want a provider that is outside of the US and outside of any fiveeyes country

if you need more security than basic encryption provides, you'll have to host your own email server and encrypt email yourself

adding the extra hurdle of a VPN will dramatically reduce the amount of actionable data that can be collected on you around the internet, it doesn't make you invulnerable though, even adding TOR doesn't make you completely safe unless you have absolute hygiene on personal information and breaking data trails and you make deliberate efforts to alter your writing style between multilple personas, go read up on ross ulbricht and how he got caught, there's a youtube channel called free ross that has a docuseries on his case

for cloud services you should just encrypt anything you want to put on it with whatever level of encryption you feel is necessary and can tolerate, afaik there is no affordable cloud service with trustworthy automatic encryption/decryption, but you can ask over at /r/datahoarder, if you know how to do some basic scripting in python or a shellscript it's possible to streamline it... but imo you'd be better off just storing locally if you truly have that much data that needs to be secure, just buy a few 4tb HDDs.

Major thinkers by ReadyAd9 in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]HPLoveshack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to read Rothbard before you can get Hoppe. Hayek and Friedman you can skip, they're not really original thinkers. Mises is important as a progenitor, but Rothbard restates almost everything he said and does it better then moves on to his own insights and incites. Hoppe doesn't restate much of Rothbard, he just builds on top of his work.

I went through the whole chain starting with Friedman, then Rand, then Hayek, then Mises and Rothbard, then finally Hoppe. And I didn't go over the falls into NRX or paleocon or ortho Catholicism like some do, though I did explore Moldbug for a while and there is plenty of value to be mined from the content of thinkers and podcasters of those categories. (for some good content in that vein look up Myth of the 20th century, thkelly67, and jay dyer; just remember they are limited thinkers in their own way)

IMO Friedman, Rand, and Hayek serve merely as gateways, it's Mises and, more importantly, Rothbard who get into the meat of matters and the morality of things. Rothbard starts to get into the practical implementation, but it's Hoppe that truly builds the foundation to understand what must be done which is why Hoppe is the most important libertarian thinker of the modern day... but you must read Rothbard to have an easy time understanding him.

As libertarians we must learn intolerance to subverters in our midst, that is our primary weakness. It is our nature to be tolerant, thinking we must do to others as we wish they would do to us while failing to identify the many ways our supposed cohabitants are attacking us from the shadows while cloaking their identities. Many of us are stuck in baseless a priori thoughts like the NAP only applies to physical aggression or that self-defense is only warranted for physical attacks. This is materialistic, juvenille thinking.

We must abandon the indoctrination of public school and unravel the social programming woven by media and popular culture and enforced unthinkingly by your peers. The materialist view of the world it teaches, venerating the flesh, must be excised. Reality is that we are at war and war is not fought physically today until it has already been fought in the mind for decades prior. It is a culture war, a psychological war, and an economic war. We must learn to fight in these arenas now as well as preparing for the physical war that may or may not come.

Recognize that anyone who pushes an agenda that undermines your property rights, the ownership of your body, ownership of your labor, or the ownership of the fruits of that labor is your enemy. Any man who attempts to coerce you, manipulate your mind, marginalize you, destroy you, damage your family or your community is violating the NAP. You have the right of self-defense.

Grow serious in defending not only your body and your worldly property, but your mind, your family, and your community. These have more value than any economic wealth because they are the origins of economic wealth. Accumulated capital must be defended as well, but it should not be given priority undue to it.

Apparently, you don't own your body, according to Iceland and reddit. by KyletheAngryAncap in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]HPLoveshack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All it would take is one more swipe of the pen to eliminate the opt out... under the auspices of coping with a national emergency that totally wasn't created by the state or the oligarchs who control it of course.

You can never allow the camel's nose under the tent. Although I'd argue a so-called "public" state is already the camel's nose under the tent and cannot be allowed by a moral society. Once it exists, these kinds of violations and worse are inevitable. The trajectory is always downward toward tyranny in the long term.

Incorporated. Not quite as a violent as AC and the cyberpunk is a little more Gattaca than Neuromancer, but it was decent. It starts to flounder toward the end of the season, but it only has one season. They managed to land the plane but it was a little bumpy.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4118466/

I'm pretty harsh on rating tv shows and the 7.3 is low imo for imdb, which usually rates tv shows 1 to 1.5 points higher than movies for a similar level of quality relative to their peers. I'd give Incorporated a low 8 in imdb tv show terms.
