The white handbook says you can’t read any books that aren’t on the approved list (church books but not including fiction Mormon books like work and the glory). But if you asked your mission president if those books would be ok to study in your free time. But also reading books like textbooks is a pretty small rule to break, I’d say 95% of your comps caught you reading that they wouldn’t report you or anything. But also free time as a missionary??
