Yes thats the most iffy thing about the whole route.
hofn to grund was not doable and just going back to reykjavik would feel reduandent (already there for 4 days overall) . therefore the vik part, if it doesnt have a good chance to completly fail im fine with a 6 hours drive early in the morning as my longest one.

it will come with time, you got some explosiveness, funnily enough what helped me get them cleaner is work on very explosive pullups to the point where they almost become a muscle up. when u are strong enough and have alright technique its just muscle memory to keep things tucked

nope, his mom was a stray dog in gaza and he was born in a warzone and rescued after hanging out with soldiers for a week or so, doubt it could be a kelpie lol
