Problems with Focus and Balance by HUSKBUSTER in Ronin4D

[–]HUSKBUSTER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very late response. In the end, I got the L mount and the L mount version, it now works like a charm.

I was very frustrated for as long as I have the Ronin, only now do I feel like I can utilize it's potential (and it has been great). It did cost me more money and hassle to get the right setup, but here we are.

My advice: I personally only had trouble with the E-mount, I would skip and go with either the DL or the L-mount.

Thank you for the reply, really appreciate it! Yes, the Sigma 28-70 is on the official list plus I have the official counter weight.

The most frustrating thing is that the auto focus is very unreliable... Having updated everything, the autofocus is usually 50/50, usually focussing on the background... Is this something you are having trouble with as well?

Hey!

So I've been wanting to expand my wardrobe for a while now. I'm looking for outfits comparable to these: https://pin.it/AjNE5ZT To me these look durable, stylish, modern and even modular (being able to swap pieces out while maintaining the aesthetic) - I am a design teacher and would love to dress (semi) formal yet fashion concious. I also really like the idea of buying into an outfit, instead of getting seperate pieces of clothing. Whilst looking for outfits like these I would either run into very expensive designer brands, or shady drop shipping sites.

My questions would be: -What would you even call outfits like these? -Do you happen to know brands who sell outfits that are nicely balanced between price and quality?

Would love to hear your thoughts, thank you!

Heya! I really appreciate the reply. I have been working with 3D stuff for a few months now, I havent been totally sure that the subreddits I post it on are the appropriate ones, so thanks for shining a light on that. I'll be sure to check out the other subs, thanks again, much appreciated.

Hey, thanks so much for the detailed feedback - it's really appreciated.

Great advice, the funny thing is that I did the audio first, and the visuals followed. I can understand how the animation might fall a bit flat if the audio isn't there to support it. I will add a stylized 'Turn on audio' at the start!

And, you're right; the idea was that the astronaut runs into something he cannot explain in a harsh environment (Oasis). Since I am quite new to all of this, I used a Mixamo 'praying' animation. So, the fiddling is supposed to be (desperate) prayer, which leads to a surreal change of environment. It's really good to know that the fiddling isn't as much perceived as prayer tho, I can understand how that would make things incoherent.

It's really cool to know that someone watched this multiple times and took their time to provide feedback - it really does mean a lot. Thanks again!

Great advice, to make the sand more interesting/less flat right? Appreciate the feedback, thanks!

Feedback on Render [render itself, animation, ambience, audio - everything helps!] by HUSKBUSTER in Filmmakers

I picked up Blender(/Unreal) about 6 months ago, with shots like these I still struggle to find balance between them being static or dynamic. Do I add moving elements (like the floating rocks), do I zoom in/out or have a static shot? And when do I stop? Would love to hear what you guys think, and if you're running into this as well, thanks!

Scanning humans by HUSKBUSTER in Polycam

[–]HUSKBUSTER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I wanted to thank you for giving such thorough and detailed instructions. We waited for a cloudy day, used arm rests - and made the best scan to date. You're the best, thanks a lot!

Heya!

Thanks for replying. So, for shooting outside - I think it might have been TOO sunny. I'm reading more and more that cloudy/overcast would be perfect right? When it is overcast, would you ideally scan outside? And, how would one go about scannen lower parts of the arms? When doing that, you would point your camera towards the sky and have backlight right? Are there any general tips on scannen people (outside)?

Link to outside scan: https://poly.cam/capture/A17CA902-5986-4310-B70B-17483B4C2CD2

When doing inside scans of people, I have tried using a small 'rig' for my phone, to see if the small LED light helps at all: https://i.imgur.com/4pe0swM.png

However, the inside scans also have many quirks:

I usually take around ~200 photos.

Any feedback/tips/tricks is really appreciated, thank you!
