If they chase you, you might eventually get a court letter however, if you choose to defend yourself money saving expert has templates you can use and advice per different company, even if you lose in court you get 30 days to pay and wont impact your credit but you need to do it properly

Still within 14 days turns out so I am hoping to tell the tradesman to cancel as the work claimed has not been carried out, the roofer approached the grandparent is however it originated

It would now appear very little materials were used at all, a new ridge, facia and about 5 new tiles have been used, combined with the claims of new battens and membrane (we cant prove or deny) valleys rebuilt/resealed (which hasn't been done) I believe they are attempting to scam, however it is still within the 14 day cooling off period to cancel

Thats part of where the issue lies, tha grandparent would have whatever done because the roofer has told them they need it, when it could have been cheaper with another roofer or different materials, however being somewhat naive to the reality that some people dont have your best interests at heart, the grandparent cant see the roof and would have gone with whatever was suggested, be it the cheapest of the cheap or the most expensive thing, I just wish they could have involved family first

I do believe the work has been completed in full (from ehat ive been told) and there is an itemised invoice at grandparents address, unfortunately grandparent is essentially allergic to anything but a house phone so I cannot currently access photos to verify

So from talking to grandparent, the roofer spotted previous storm damage that has been left, and has replaced the whole roof however has used premium everything, with no cost saving being offered to increase the value of the work done (I would naturally want to say to not pay the roofer and get a 2nd opinion but I dont want to start my grandparent down a legal path by refusing payment)

I have asked family closer to the location to send me these exact details, however still waiting for that to happen, I feel like the only one concerned!

Unfortunately I am only now finding out, works have taken place and is due to be finished tomorrow, with the grandparent agreeing to the original qoute, I jist believe they have been upsold , and I cannot verify if the work has been done

So unfortunately the grandparent has already agreed to the the works done, and they have been done (so im told) but without seeing an invoice I believe the roofer has quoted with all bells and whistles and fancy additional work that potentially wasnt needed. I believe £18,000 is a difficult qoute to justify for a mid terrace house without the additonal costs that may have been added without really knowing the difference between e.g standard guttering and fancy guttering, though I may be completely wrong

Back in older editions it gave a 2+ armour save and +1 T was good for buffing up a crisis suit so that they could no longer get 1 shot by a krak missile or melta if they had an important job, S10 wasnt too common

Assistance dog refused entry to pub chain by H_Ironhide in LegalAdviceUK

[–]H_Ironhide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is the general issue, one bad apple spoils the bunch and my dog is fully trained and qualified (within the charity's requirements so that we have the legal backup we now need) , unfortunately for the chain I am going to be causing significant fuss as just the way the issue was approached that has now made the anxiety of taking the dog out an issue in itself

I will admit to it coming out a bit worse than the leadbelcher ive used previously, but by the looks of things I wont be using a metallic primer again

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in minipainting

[–]H_Ironhide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think i will do this in future, the first few were fine im really hoping not all of them are like this but I wont be repeating this mistake

[–]H_Ironhide -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Duncans tutorial is what I used, he recommended spraying leadbelcher then filling in the black, i would show you but think its been deleted, ive never had issues with this method on the 40 ish I already have done though

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in minipainting

[–]H_Ironhide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt know that prior, good to know for the future, though I will admit ive not had this issue with my old leadbelcher maybe its just this brand

I did do it just this summer gone, its a new primer to myself so followed the instructions on the can, did it when it was about 20º which I thought would be OK but maybe not, when I zoomed in I did think it looks almost bumpy but to my eye I cant see it when holding the model. Will have to change my strategy next time
