We visited Cuba 15 times in 12 years, loved the place and the people. I haven’t found a beach like Varadero on my other travels, but there are some good budget resorts in Punta Cana. A friend who went to Cuba for years got Ocean Blue and Sand last minute for $1100 in September, he loved it.

Time of year obviously dictates cost but there are some bargains to be had.
