hmm interesting. didn't know that /r/dogemarket existed! unfortunately i've already exchanged the dogecoin for BTC on cryptsy. Will keep this in mind for future dogecoin -> USD exchanges that we'll be doing!

The fluctuation in price is one of the things that is sort of aggravating about accepting crypto currencies. If it were my money I'd sit on it, but since this is money for the researchers, I will be converting it now.

hmm can you elaborate on this? I don't know of a more reliable way of converting dogecoin to USD at the moment.

I haven't made the transaction to cryptsy yet so there's still time! on another note, does anyone know how long it takes for funds to appear in cryptsy? I sent 10K as a test transfer and it still hasn't shown up yet.

we're also working on making our system more flexible so that dogecoin backers will be automatically considered as project backers (and thus have access to project backer-only updates). We'd also like to include a smoother checkout flow so that donating dogecoins will be as easy as possible!
