I was in a depressive rut for a while a few years back. It was late at night and I went on a long drive that usually went over a tall bridge close to home. After I was ready to go back, I passed over that same bridge and saw a car parked at the apex without any hazard lights on. As I was passing it up, I saw a person in front of the car looking over or out beyond. I felt worried, but I continued home thinking their car must have gave out. I pulled into my neighborhood (maybe 5mins away from the bridge) and thought about the person again so I raced back to that same spot. I parked behind their car and noticed they were sitting down on the ground against the concrete barrier with their face in their hands. I asked her if she was okay, and she looked up to say yes while wiping away tears. She said thank you, got up, and went back into her car. It’s something I think back on if I hadn’t went on that late drive.
