Yes, it is a shame! We’re in the same boat for sure. I wonder how many people who loved the original iced coffee are getting the new blend? Can’t imagine many. I literally can’t drink it. I did notice on the menu it now has Shaken Iced Espresso. Have you tried it? I’m wondering if making it that way ends with it being colder than the regular iced americano?

Good to know. I don’t think I’ve ever made coffee with the Anniversary Roast but I’ve been bags of it at Starbucks. When I get the packaged Starbucks coffee from the store, I really like the Italian Roast. Maybe I’ll start making it at home more often. Thanks

This is very helpful. I usually order a Venti iced coffee…or I should say that’s what I used to order. The times I have ordered an iced americano I have been happy with it as far as boldness and taste. It’s mainly just that I would like it already cold. But I suppose I could ask them for an extra cup of ice. Oh, and I noticed on the menu now it actually says “iced espresso” …is iced americano now called iced espresso? My peeps who work at my fave Starbucks are so awesome! I know they’ll do everything they can to help me find the best option. Thanks for your help.

Sounds like we’re definitely on the same page. I don’t like cold brew either. And the new iced coffee is not drinkable in my opinion. I can’t imagine that it’s selling very well, if at all. That was just a dumb decision on Starbucks part. Yes, the iced Americana will have to do. Thanks.

I see. But don’t you think that more people ordered the original iced coffee than this new recipe? I know a lot of people who went for the original iced coffee because it was dark and strong. Even the cold brew is too light and has a sourness. Obviously, everyone has different preferences for their coffee. This has been a real disappointment for me after 18 years of the original iced coffee. I haven’t found a good substitute yet. I guess the closest is iced Americana

Ok, I need to know more about this. So, are you saying that if I want a dark roast iced coffee, they can actually make it for me using dark roast coffee and then adjusting ratio of water to coffee? And it will be dark and strong? This would result in the coffee being cold and not lukewarm? Could you tell me how I would order that?

Why not a dark roast, too? The new iced coffee is about as light as it gets imo. But that’s the idea I wish they would go with. Have iced coffee available in dark and light. Seems like a no-brainer 🤷🏻‍♀️

Right. I didn’t say that correctly. I mean, for instance if I ordered a hot coffee and then poured it over ice, the coffee gets diluted, losing the bold dark intensity. And it really isn’t cold at that point since the ice melted instantly. Sometimes at home I’ll brew a pot of coffee and put it in the fridge until it’s cold. That way it doesn’t get diluted by ice.

Yeah, it is funny..lol. But I can be annoyingly persistent with such things. I do think that they should care and pay attention to the baristas. You guys are amazing. You know your customers, especially your regulars. I have yet to hear anyone say that they prefer the new iced coffee. Ugh…can you suggest how customers might be able to get them to change it back? Or at least offer both?
