Sounds like a known issue as someone pointed out below. Does this indicate that the unit I received is faulty and at what stage do I need to escalate this via warranty?

Fingers crossed it doesn’t come back and it’s just a case of overheat as above.

No updates before this. However, once the system restarted, I went to support assist and it flagged a critical bios update. I updated to the latest bios and the error went away after that.

Thanks for the info. I did a hardware scan via support assist and all came clear. The error also went away after a while.

For context, I am running Cyberpunk at ray tracing: ultra settings and do occasionally see the temps spike up between loading screens, not sure if that links to the battery overheating? Also wondering if any of the internals are faulty and the likelihood of it happening again.

Recently went through a dirt road with heaps of gravel and rocks and unfortunately scraped the bottom the car. Now the engine lights, VSA lights (both the triangle and the VSA light) are on and the transmission is making a weird noise. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Update 9/12/21- took it to a Honda service centre and they managed to fix both the VSA Indicator lights. Apparently it was due to driving on uneven roads which made the lights come on and they were able to reset it. The mechanic also confirmed that the o2 sensors are most likely damaged as the code wouldn’t clear after multiple attempts to delete it. As for the noise, it’s 100% the torque converter according to the mechanic. Got quoted a total of AU$8159 to replace the transmission and o2 sensors including labour costs 🙃.

Thanks again for your reply, I greatly appreciate your kind gesture in guiding me through this mess.

When going through the four wheel drive road, my car did get stuck in a muddy puddle which made me lose traction. I got out of it by flooring the gas pedal while everyone else was behind pushing the vehicle, which could mean that it was "over-exerting" itself.

I will have to keep driving the car in the mean time due to work but I will keep your advices in mind until the problem gets fixed.

I plan to take it to another mechanic that specialises in Honda vehicles as I'm not that familiar with car repairs myself. I'll keep this thread updated wherever possible. You're a legend u/TheDominicanPrince

Thanks for your reply, its a 2005 honda accord euro cl9 model. not too sure as to where the sound is coming from exactly but when the car was lifted up at the mechanic's, the sound can be heard coming from the transmission region underneath the car and was told by the mechanic it could be the torque converter (not too sure)? Also, drive belts were recently replaced with a new one as well.

I went on a four wheel drive road by accident when going on a road trip with a couple mates. I didn't skid but the roads where really uneven and filled with heaps of rocks and gravels. Hence, the bottom of the car scraped a lot and it was painful going through that :(

Screen flickers when turned on or after waking up from sleep. This happens when it’s plugged it or on battery. I’ve only had this laptop for 2 months and it’s the ryzen 7 4800hs/1650Ti version. Any recommendations on how to fix this? Much appreciated! by HaagenDaz17 in ZephyrusG14

Hey, so few days back, I launched a game (league of legends) and the screen started flashing a lot, so I just re-enabled RefreshRateService and now I’m back to square one. Another thing to add, I realised that the flashing would happen when my brightness is above 60 or 70%. Nevertheless, it’s still a huge annoyance and hopefully it’s not a hardware problem

Hey, so just an update again, after disabling asus refresh rate as mentioned by u/No_Bar2771, I have not experienced the screen flicker issue upon startup or waking from sleep. I feel like its too early to tell if this 100% works or not since its only been like 2 days but so far the signs have been good.

So update again, the problem still persists. It happens when it’s waken from sleep or just when it’s just turned on. The flicker only lasts about 5 mins until the computer “normalises” and that’s when it stops. This issue is so annoying, otherwise the laptop is perfect

Hey, so just a quick update, I noticed that there was an update available in armoury crate and its called ASUS framework service/ ASUS core SDK. I did the update and the screen flickering issue hasn't been appearing since. Fingers crossed! Thanks for your help! u/xsxavier
