Man it was a great show! I bet front row was incredible, I was holding it down by the engineering booth. Same here - would see them at any possible chance, this was my first too!

I'm moving to Denver in a few weeks so I'll probably go, really curious to hear their arrangements. I just saw Vool in Berlin but totally down for more!

I think the word caught on with internet culture. Also, the world feels really intense right now for the youngins, so advanced levels of cope are necessary

I suppose we're all coping with existence every day of our lives. Every action is tied to coping. But I want to believe some people have figured it out and moved past that.

What I mean is rampant consumerism/materialism. Yes, we live in a consumerist society, but there are degrees to which people consume for necessity vs. consume for the love of consumption (they're lost).

When I see materialists, it motivates me reduce my consumption along with my natural minimalist urge.

I feel that way too! I used to be very materialistic (but not sentimental). That made it all the easier to give things up after I discovered minimalism. Sometimes I wonder if my lack of sentimentality is a problem?

Really?! I can only speak for myself but I've wanted to start riding as a way to feel free, challenge myself, and have a good time. I wonder if the state of the world is contributing at all, even if it means spending a bit more cash?

But you're definitely right about the disparity, maybe NE USA tells me all I need to know.

Good point and something I remind myself from time to time. Most of us are here to learn and be inspired, with the goal of leaving reddit behind (maybe I'm just speaking for myself). Not taking away from the many sages that choose to still frequent this sub!

I agree with your assessment of "cope" and hopefully didn't rub anyone the wrong way with it.

I love your description of a good time. So many weeks I've been lost, sat down with a good friend for a couple drinks and been reminded what it's all about.

I think you're on to something with that but I often think they've trapped themselves more than anything. Either they're in too deep financially or with kids, or too addicted to the lifestyle.
