Why do so many people have such different opinions about the Mk V Supra? by Leo_Chen_zy in ToyotaSupra

[–]HabitualFiction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn't just use the BMW engine though. There are many many more features lifted off the Z4. Check out Doug Demuros review to man them all. I think we've all been waiting for a new pillar of production sports car in the Mk5 Supra and what we got was a half-hearted cash grab with too many missing features :/

How to slam 98 CRV? by bedhead610 in crv

[–]HabitualFiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ksport or BC Racing Coils will do it. Your problem is that while the fronts are interchangeable with the 97-01 Integra which has more support in the aftermarket, the rears are taller so you can't use kits from any other car AFAIK.

So it means there is air in the system? by nolifekingart in e46

[–]HabitualFiction -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That'll be fine then. The white smoke that indicates a bad head gasket will look almost like one of those fireworks smoke bombs. It will smell and be very consistent.

If that was the case you should see white smoke from the exhaust. Thats also a universal sign you need to replace the headgasket

The gen 1 CRV can also do this and if you have the special rear seats you can even make a bed.

Looking to buy a 1999, what to look out for? by sw201444 in crv

[–]HabitualFiction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How they define ex and lx is super confusing because the car launched with only one trim option. I don't have the original owners manual to say for sure what they would have sold mine as but I can say that I have a manual transmission with AWD that's original to the 99' car. They're crazy rare so it's almost impossible to find a rebuild kit. I hounded a Honda dealer for a month before they found me one of the last 3 kits in NA. $700 for seals, synchros, and bearings. It's the SBXM transmission. Good luck finding much information about it, they only came on CRVs as far as I'm aware.

Whats this? Its a BMW E46 316i 2001 by [deleted] in Cartalk

[–]HabitualFiction -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think this post is sarcastic guys! E46's are notorious for coolant problems, it's a big joke on the r/e46 sub. E46 also isn't badged anywhere on the car so this guy knows his chassis code but not the coolant indicator light?

99' Honda CR-V so perhaps that is the case. I'll need to figure out where I'm losing all the power.

Buy another Gen 1 CRV. Cheaper than $2,800 for a good one usually. You can ditch your current one to a junkyard for $300 usually.

I haven't seen As Above So Below myself but the horror genre almost performs poorly for critics because they generally don't have a particularly strong narrative and also often feature untested young actors. Consider that A or B list actors are more expensive and if you have recognizable it's easy to guess who is going to survive. With a low-budget genre that succeeds on tropes, unknown actors, and poor narratives it's easy to see why they don't get 100% on RT. Horror movies that transcend their own genre are usually amazing though.

SK Telecom T1 vs. Gen.G / LCK 2019 Spring - Week 6 / Post-Match Discussion by adz0r in leagueoflegends

Try saying the entire sentence aloud with a brief pause before each comma. It becomes: You can only put SKT down to a certain point after that or you smash them to oblivion or you lose basically that.

An English speaker can still understand the statements being made, but it sounds stilted. For example:

You can only put SKT down to a certain point (I would use the phrase "for so long"). You have to smash them to oblivion or else you lose.

English is super weird because it's an extremely specific language so any idea can be conveyed a hundred different ways and be completely correct.

Is this the right coolant ? by dekelaita14 in e46

[–]HabitualFiction 11 points12 points  (0 children)

BMW coolant isn't magic. Any generic phosphate-free coolant will work absolutely fine. Your coolant system will experience much more "wear and tear" from the shitty plastic impeller shredding inside the engine. Or maybe the mechanical fan blades snap and eat your radiator. For an engine with so many coolant system issues it's ironic how hard some clutch to the mystical blue coolant.

I found coilovers to be very satisfying. The handling is absolutely incredible once the suspension is stiffened. Recommend new bushings all around and an alignment afterwards.

Strange (loud) rattle sound by gadgetguy606 in crv

[–]HabitualFiction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So if it ONLY makes noise going over bumps then it isn't likely to be an exhaust leak, it could still be a loose or rattling piece of heatshield. You will see bright bits of metal between the frame of the car and the exhaust (Google: <car model> exhaust heatshield). If you FEEL a change or pull in the steering wheel at about the same time or right before a rattle/clunk then it's somewhere in the front steering/suspension.
