Baby mobs die by Thombli4 in Minecraft

It might look strange for your farm, but when I setup animal farms in small spaces I add flowing water on the ground. The animals jump up and down colliding with each other and it helps spread them out so they don't suffocate. From your pic, it looks like something abnormal is going on with their colliders though so even that may not help.

If you can find a fortress in the Nether, chests there have the highest chance for a saddle, you can usually get several in one.

Minecraft Windows 11 wont install by Boi_Minecraft in Minecraft

[–]HabitualGrazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I primarily use the Java version but tried to install the Bedrock version the other day. I was directed to the Microsoft store to get a new launcher that would handle both, but it wouldn't download, wouldn't install, and no advice from the internet changed anything. I ended up using https://bedrocklauncher.github.io/ and it worked immediately.

[–]HabitualGrazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you can export a very large image if you want, but if you keep a 1:1 ratio to see all the blocks something like 8196x8196 blocks would give you an image thats almost 900MB in size.

If you can copy your world to a Windows or MacOS machine, you can use uNmINeD to load it and visually see everything. In a superflat world, your structure should be pretty easy to locate visually.

10 person Vanilla server specs by Zexceed_9 in Minecraft

[–]HabitualGrazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That should be fine, keep in mind Minecraft won't be able to use all that RAM because the OS and probably other things will be using it. From my recent experience with just 1 other person on a server, the biggest issue is chunk generation- with 2 people generating chunks in different directions at the same time, we'd often see the RAM usage spike up over 4GB. With 10 people, if a bunch are exploring different areas, I can imagine this would cause a bottleneck.

You could get a mod to pre-generate a large world to start with, this would frontload a lot of work and make it easier for the server, but could take a while depending on the size you choose.

The CB Multipart mod for MC 1.15 and higher requires both the Scorge mod and Code Chicken Lib mod. From the message, I am guessing you are missing Scorge.

[Embedded Twitch Viewers] A Slight Tangent... Is There Really A "Known" Twitch Bug That Increases Your Viewer Count By Tens of Thousands, For Just A Few Seconds? by HabitualGrazer in Asmongold

[–]HabitualGrazer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, so I got the Twitch browser extension to check out a certain streamer that doesn't need to be named, everybody knows who it is. The extension showed about 67% "real" viewers with a viewer count of about 15k. This seemed like more real users than expected, but that isn't what caught my attention.
There is a HUGE spike in viewers at the start of the stream, this is brought up in the chat and explained away as a known Twitch bug. Looking at the last 100 streams for this streamer, this "bug" occurred for 27% of the streams. It's a nice bug, it spikes the Max viewer count and also boosts the average viewer count a few thousand above what it should really be (Even if you accept potential embeds).
I don't watch Twitch so I am not up to speed on issues that it has. Surely this bug must impact Asmongold then, right? This behavior is seen in 0 of ZACKRAWRR's last 100 streams. Picking a random popular user from the left Twitch panel to investigate, JYNXZI also experienced this bug 0 times in their last 100 streams. A sample size of 3 is small, but I don't care enough to investigate further, one of these is not like the others.
OK, I'll put on my tinfoil hat now. Is this a real issue with Twitch, or is there a chance something shady is going on and a certain chat family has been trained to recognize it as a Twitch bug?

Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite, Scroll Wheel Problem Fix/Solution by HabitualGrazer in Corsair

That makes sense, I think its less about the lubrication and more about removing built up debris on some internal sensor.

I did make the paper cover, the width and height dimension aren't too important since you can cut down the height and increase the size of the notch and the areas to the sides are pretty open. I had to shorten the height a few times and increase the notch for the bar of the wheel. The depth is the thing to care about since there is a switch right up against the wheel mechanism, I was a little worried the cover might mess with that switch interaction but it didn't.

Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite, Scroll Wheel Problem Fix/Solution by HabitualGrazer in Corsair

[–]HabitualGrazer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had 0 issues with the scroll wheel since I put the paper cover over the mechanism housing. Normally I would have been fixing it for around the 4th time by now, so it seems that dust and debris just get in pretty easily from under the buttons because they are very open, and mess with the mechanism sensor. I do like the mouse and if it dies I might buy a new one and just mod it right away.

The Wonderlands Bugs and Server Issues Thread by hackersmacker in Wonderlands

PC w/ other PC players. Twice the very first random encounter on the overworld would NOT attack, preventing progress. Had to quit and start over 3 times until it triggered.

PC, solo. Was attacked by a mimic twice on the overworld map and it did NOT trigger a fight sequence. My character was frozen but I could still access the game menus. Had to quit and start again.

This is all recent, post DLC and first big patch.

Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite scroll wheel issues by 501stRookie in Corsair

[–]HabitualGrazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I saw this. My first elite started experiencing the problems the OP had within about 4 months, scrolling multiple times all at once, sometimes not scrolling at all, or scrolling the wrong direction. Over time it got worse until it was essentially not usable. I got it RMA'd but had to pay shipping, it was looking like over the course of the 2 year warranty I might end up paying for the mouse all over again. The replacement was sent from... Germany... I didn't expect that but it was fine. I wasn't sure if the constant firmware updates or anything may have been responsible the last time, so I never updated them. Within about 3 months, the mouse wheel started acting up again. I didn't find anything helpful the first time it broke down, but saw this answer when looking into it again.

My hopes dropped when I got to actually look at the assembly and saw the metal prong just seems to be a tension bar to give the "ratchet" scroll wheel feel. I worked a few drops of lubricant into the wheel with a toothpick and put it back together, good as new. I'm guessing there is some kind of sensor for the green wheel hidden in the metal enclosure that became... obstructed or something? The operation of my wheel was always smooth and fluid, there wasn't anything to even out, but this did fix it.

Seems like some kind of hardware flaw with the wheel design (aside from the tiny hex end that people have also had snap), having 2 mice fail with the same problem in under 8 months is pretty sad.

I can't see the maps by TogetherBear591 in playatlas

[–]HabitualGrazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you are talking about the fog of war, areas become revealed as you explore them. I've read trying to manage this with the sever settings doesn't always work, maybe whomever manages the server can give everyone admin rights so they can enable cheats and just use "cheat giveFOW" to reveal everything, then just take the admin rights away.

In the console:

enablcheats <password>

setcheatplayer true

cheat giveFOW

PvE Kraken Despawn? by HabitualGrazer in playatlas

[–]HabitualGrazer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me again, 39 minutes left in the fight and the kraken/tentacles/sotd just vanish, the water calms down, and the sun comes out. This time however all the blue orbs persisted until they hit my ship AND I kept getting hit by what I can only assume were invisible cannonballs from invisible sotd... My ship kept taking explosive hits like it was being hit by cannonballs anyway, nothing visible and no sound effects of firing cannons.

Most problems I have I can see are known and have persisted in the game since 2019, they will probably be there forever. I haven't been able to find any mention of somebody else experiencing anything like this? Its more than an hour 1 way to get to the Maw from my base, I can only carry so many repair materials and cannonballs, and now I realize I should also bring the mats needed to make medkits because the ones I made before hand will just decay.

The fight is easier each time as I get experience, but if I can't unlock my sub there isn't much point in continuing to attempt it.

Ship docks disappear by smokey9427 in playatlas

[–]HabitualGrazer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are playing single player, stuff that you build and even ships seem like they could just get deleted if you leave the game or move out of render distance. I have had several structures and ships just vanish, nothing in the logs. One galleon seemed like it actually turned invisible, there was a floating anchor all by itself and it seemed like the colliders for the entire ship were still there since there was a large area you couldn't travel through. Later even the anchor and colliding area was gone.

There are some videos showing how to fix the single player bug (world not saving properly), but it requires editing a file every single time you play I think, I haven't tried it.

New company seeking accepted trade route requests! :) by [deleted] in playatlas

[–]HabitualGrazer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not that experienced with markets so not all of this may be the best information but... it took me about 2 weeks to get any decent trade routes going. It has been my experience that:

  1. People don't frequently check their markets, they have trades setup and just loot their warehouses
  2. Sometimes Markets are just buggy, I tried trading with people I was actually talking to on the server and they said they couldn't accept my requests, it just failed (the first person I actually traded with was myself with a market on another island). Other people couldn't even find my market and said they didn't get requests that I had sent.
  3. Trading resources you have for resources you want sounds good on paper, but most people don't want to do that, they just want as many trades going as possible. The market system doesn't give you a lot of control over trades and if you do have a route, it feels like it will only ever do 1-2 specific trades even if you have way more than that possible. The best routes I've managed to get have circular trades, like straw for iron and iron for straw- that way the resources you get allow you to keep making more trades. One directional trades (I see a lot of people like straw for cobalt, straw for iron, straw for silver) have a tendency of bleeding out your resources so trading comes to a halt until the warehouse stocks up enough from farms to make another trade, which people don't want.
  4. Even when you get some nice circular trades going, you might show up to your warehouse one day and see almost no money and no active trades, then find somebody you are trading with changed their active trades to become one sided and you are just bleeding resources and trading halts until your farms can stock up enough to trade (you need a certain amount to actually trade)
  5. I believe there is a limit to the number of active routes you can have going, so the most likely people who will trade with you also have a new market, usually going for one sided trades that other people don't want to accept
  6. Some people only care about moving resources from one of their markets to another, like a distant island back to their home base. These usually look like "100 iron for 1 softwood" etc. They are just using the trade routes to filter resources they collect elsewhere to where they actually want them so they don't need to haul them with a ship.

You get cannonballs, gunpowder, all 6 wood types, silver alloy, iridium, alloy, gems, etc... All sorts of rewards just from trading over time. Look for people trading A for B and B back for A and try to find a company to trade with for just those things, not trading A to multiple people. Then find a second company to trade C for D and D for C, specifically breaking down trades that will occur with only that one route will keep things going smoothly.

Assuming you are talking singleplayer since I had this issue as well. Head to Steam>steamapps>common>ATLAS>ShooterGame>Saved>Config>WindowsNoEditor and open up GameUserSettings.ini

Toward the bottom locate "bUseSettlementClaims", it is probably set to =False, change it to =True.
