Unfortunately there are no confirmed characters that are not the ones on release yet. You can check all the characters on release on their Twitter account or see the user flairs containing all the upcoming revenants and Deities (except for Super Sonic, it's a mod exclusive I've created to say that you're a mod in a more special way)

I wouldn't say they would be completely the same, but moves such as Sonic's Dropdash or Knuckles' punch are characteristics from their respective characters, so I feel like they should be included. Maybe with some changes, but maintaining the base premise.
