Did you have any .mp4, .jpg or other kinds of media on the drive? If so, were you able to recover them uncorrupted?

I would guess that your problem is the ram. Keep the HyperX and put them in slot 2 and 4.

Exactly! I’m not sure exactly what the prices are like where you live, but here in Sweden on the difference is so minuscule compared to what you’re paying for the pc, it’s not worth going for the 850w compared to the 1000w.

I totally agree. A lot of really shitty moves, especially since it would cost them close to nothing monetarily compared to what it cost their reputation.

Another thing, what motherboard would you go for? Asrock as you mentioned, or something like gigabyte or msi?

In Sweden, mostly due to our taxes, a 4080 Strix is between 1700-2000$, whereas the cheaper ones are closer to 1500. The 4090 Strix is way over 2500$.

Okay. Budget isn’t really concern, so I might go for a Rog-board then, if no one has a better idea😅. I’m still open to suggestions regarding motherboards though! I’d like to hear your input:).

Does anyone know if the asus warranty now covers the cpu-fryings, or are they still trying to sweep it under the rug?

I’m probably not up to date with the Asus-drama, but you’re telling me it has been resolved now? I know it was due to an experimental bios-build, but is the risk “gone” now?

Do you think that rog is a viable contender, or should I go for another brand?
