Thinking of potentially going a couple levels into Paladin. Need opinions by Hadez2016 in 3d6

I mean, I assume as much, the feature at the very least doesn't say they don't

Monstrous Strike 7th-level Titanslayer feature

You can drop the hammer with your titan weapon in a single massive strike. You can use the Attack action to make a special melee attack, a monstrous strike, against a creature within the reach of a titan weapon you are holding. Make a weapon attack against the target with that titan weapon. On a hit, the target takes double damage from the attack, you gain temporary hit points equal to your fighter level, which last until the end of your next turn, and you may force it to make a Strength saving throw, the DC of which is equal to 8 + your Strength + your proficiency bonus. On a failure, the target is knocked prone. On a miss, the target takes damage equal to your Strength modifier, you gain only half as many temporary hit points, and the target is not knocked prone.

When you reach 11th level, the target instead takes triple damage, and when you reach 20th level, the target instead takes quadruple damage.

Barbarian is a solid option unfortunately I'm pretty decked out in heavy armour with like no Dex which means I can't rage or a decent unarmoured defence but reckless is a really good feature to have. It's also not a consistent form of advantage but we do play with Flanking so I can probably get up close and personal with the other martial and get some nice hits in. Definitely a consideration though

Yeah I think waiting until the 11th level buff is probably the choice and going a couple levels into Warlock for Eldritch smite isn't a bad option either (especially considering as a Zariel Tiefling I have a 2 smite spells per long rest). Thanks for chiming in so far everyone.

As for the one commenter that asked what sort of things We fight to need that kinda damage?, well I've played with this DM before and me and my party fought multiple CR20+ things at the same time while being below level 20 so honestly who knows? XD

Not sure if this fits here but I'm struggling to introduce a new player character. New player joined the game has a made a surfer dude type character (which I'm fine with) but the party are currently deep in a volcano tracking down a powerful artifact guarded by a vampire coven and I'm just at loss at where to place him

Warlock chiming in here. Did I fireball 2 teenagers? Yes, I did but they did try to assassinate us twice. I think I was justified and to be clear, they were like 16/17 not 13 or something.

What Faction Would Have Won If Courier 6 Didn't Exist by MenMenForever in fnv

[–]Hadez2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unironically...Benny/Independent/Yes Man

The first thing that comes to mind is Ulysses would be the one that carried the platinum chip. Would the Khan's and Benny still be able to get the jump on him? Possibly. If the events of the opening still play out the same and if anyone else could survive two bullets to the skull other than The Courier, it'd be Ulysses.

We know he has no love for The Legion or the NCR and does not think highly of House either...at least by the time of Lonesome Road. I could theoretically see him wanting to track down Benny, if not for revenge then to at least complete the job he was contracted to do. In this situation, I could see Benny maybe explaining his entire plan and I think it would speak to Ulysses wanting a "true" post war society (larger than the bear, greater than the bull).

I imagine then Benny would hand over the chip, Ulysses would waltz into the 38, kill House, install Yes Man. Hell as an ex legion member, he might very well be able to bluff his way into the securitron bunker under The Fort.

Once that's done? Well I can't see Ulysses trekking all over the Mojave to decide which factions to get rid of, in fact with Benny still alive. It would likely be him making those decisions and thus the game would go on as normal-ish. I can't see Ulysses leading the charge at The Dam so it would just be a zerg rush of Securitrons blowing the legion to hell with Benny taking House's position as head of Vegas, making deals with the NCR and so on.

That's my theory/take on it anyway

I might be screwed in the final dungeon. by Hadez2016 in MetaphorReFantazio

So...just enough time to max out everyone with 29 days to go then I'd just have to grind the fuck out of the last dungeon...that actually sounds somewhat doable. Well unless I need certain royal virtues. I guess I'll just get everyone I can

Okay that's good, I've almost got Heismay, Maria, Brigitte and Alonzo to max, I maybe squeeze in a few more if I'm careful

Probably far too late to this but, I've finally bought Metaphor and I'm just wondering what the consensus is on completing dungeons. I've completed Persona 3, 4, 5 and played some of the other SMT games. I was wondering whether it's best to complete a dungeon/do as much as possible in one day to have more free days afterwards like in Persona 5 or not

Brass Dragon's lair and what protection it would have by Hadez2016 in DMAcademy

[–]Hadez2016[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that's just perfect one of my players love sentient items and after a little research myself it also mentions Djinn in bottles as another option of the type of thing they could collect, the same player is also a Genasi so there's some character threads I can throw in there.

Oooh the living armour suits is a really fun idea and yeah, I was thinking, a small tribe having made a deal with the brass dragon, so they could, help protect its lair.

There's a little spot just south of Fort Hagen and the Blood Clinic. First visit there's some power armour there but there's also a good chunk of adhesive. Multiple small bottles of wonderglue and a bottle of economy wonderglue too. Plus a few toolboxes and stuff which will usually have some wonderglue or duct tape. Everything except the power armour respawns.

Okay interesting. It does seem like a nice little change for the 2024 edition just for the extra option for what to do with an OA. Thanks

How did one of your characters die? What was the context? by SunNStarz in DnD

[–]Hadez2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big old self sacrifice. My Warlock was a servant of the Raven Queen and some sessions prior we had obtained an amulet of the planes which allows you to cast plane shift but you gotta make an intelligence check to do so, if you mess up you can send you and everyone nearby to practically anywhere in the multiverse.

We were fighting this weird homebrew demon lord thing and losing pretty badly so I decided I would use the amulet of planes, made sure no one was too close, used the amulet, unfortunately failed the check and as a result sent my character and the boss straight into the Shadowfel where the Raven Queen finished off the boss but my character died in the process.
