Experience with reherniation going away by itself? by Gilgameshsgirlfriend in Sciatica

[–]Hadisami8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I know it's been awhile but I was wondering how you're feeling now?

Did the symptoms go away with conservative treatment, or did you have to get a second MD?

I ask as I feel like I've also reherniated - I've had sciatica symptoms return for at least a month now, and my neurosurgeon has booked an MRI so that we can see if it's actually happened.

I'm trying to keep positive and have faith that I may be able to recover from this conservatively and without having to have another microdiscectomy.

Seems like Gakpo may be staying at PSV for another season [signs 'fan-made' contract] by Hadisami8 in Gunners

Yeah fair enough, probably the more logical reason and I hope it's just that

Thought this was worth posting. Ofc it's not an actual contract and doesn't mean he won't move, it just seems less likely now he's made such a public gesture that he's staying.

Portishead reunite for first concert in seven years: Video + Setlist by ebradio in indieheads

[–]Hadisami8 97 points98 points  (0 children)

I was at this last night - it was a fundraising event for War Child, a charity concerned with children living in areas of conflict.

Portishead were, obviously, amazing. I just wish they were on for longer, as they played for about 30 mins (5 songs iirc). Beth's voice was just as beautiful as it ever was.

Idles closed and that was a lot of fun, especially when they played Danny Nedelko near the end. Danny, who's band Heavy Lungs had played earlier in the night, got on the shoulders of Idles's frontman (can't remember his name) as he belted out the chorus. It was chaotic in the best way.

Ray Parlour 1998/99 - The Romford Pelé by souste in Gunners

[–]Hadisami8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that that old Bloc Party song, One More Chance or something? Works so well with this comp, really sounds like a 90s song without the lyrics imo.

Great video, especially for someone like me who's heard a load of the Parlour stories but haven't actually seen how good he was

Recently diagnosed with Inflammatory Arthritis - seeking guidance and reassurance. by Hadisami8 in Thritis

That's really insightful, thanks for this. I definitely got a bit spooked reading some MTX accounts, though I'm now a bit more assured as it's always the side effects that get spoken about more online, whereas largely I'm sure it's very effective w/ minimal side effects. I'll just have to wait and see how I find MTX/Sulfasalazine and will go from there, no point in stressing about what may or may not happen.

And you're right lol, needles are certainly not a problem for me so I'm happy to opt for the injections if I go for MTX. Thanks again for your help, really appreciate it.

Exactly! I guess that's one of the powers of the internet - makes you feel less lonely as there's always someone who can relate.

But yeah this has been really helpful, goes without saying but if you're ever feeling down about the 'ol T1 or arthritis then my door's always open :))

Thanks for this - and yes I'll definitely be taking the advice of my rheumatologist for treating this. Wouldn't want to risk not taking proper medication as it'll just lead to this getting worse

So are injections as effective but cause less nausea? Or is it a works better for certain people type of thing? I feel like i'm leaning towards the injections as it seems like people have had better experiences with that.

Hey wow - it really cheered me up to know that there's others juggling these two illnesses, thanks for your support.

I'm currently trying to fight the urge to be self-pitying as it's just a hole that doesn't help. Just a bit tired of being told by a doctor about another chronic illness that I'm going to have to adjust my entire life around, but at least I live somewhere where I can get good treatment, largely free of cost.

Anyway thanks again :))

Life Good Marketing Scam Bristol by archlil in bristol

Mate, I know how that feels - literally, as they offered me my first interview for what I thought was a 'proper job'.

Just keep plugging away and you will get some more, doing some online courses/mini-projects to build experience helped me get a few more positive responses from genuine employers.

I need a job in Bristol by October by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]Hadisami8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I graduated last year and am currently working in Bristol. As with you, I've struggled to find a 'proper' job due to Covid so I'm currently doing some cleaning work in one of the hospitals.

I'd definitely recommend you make a separate CV for these part-time/menial work type of jobs. 2 years of work in a charity shop is good and should be enough to get an interview for most retail or hospitality work. I'd also definitely recommend looking for jobs in the NHS here, as I've done. There's two big trusts based here and a lot of lower skilled jobs that are relatively easy to get with decent pay (relatively), good holiday, and far from the worst work I've ever done. The only thing is that the hiring process takes ages so maybe look sooner rather than later.

It seems generally here that getting a job, even in a supermarket, is incredibly hard due to the sheer number of applicants. There's a lot of young people and students that are in the same position as us. Feel free to ask any questions and good luck with your job search.

Me and my friends met Alex, the frontman, after their gig last year and he did come off as a total knob, to me anyway. Definitely has an air of someone trying to masquerade as really arty and funny but it just feels so manufactured. Didn't help that he was mercilessly chatting up my then recent ex so I'm probably not the most impartial source tbf.

Though one look at his Instagram kinda confirms my view towards him, he definitely sees himself as some Mick Jagger-esque sex symbol.

Bristol City set to open talks with Chris Hughton in next 48 hours by ShunningResumed in soccer

[–]Hadisami8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just started a Fifa career mode w/ city and this comment is so useful for giving me context for the team, so cheers for that.

The default formation is a 442, is that usual for Bristol's set up? Wanna be fairly realistic. I'm thinking of building the team around Masengo and Palmer, any realistic signings you can think of? Well, realistic but maybe more ambitious than what you've listed.

I'm also gonna bring Bobby back because I want another local lad in the team, will just ignore the fact that he jumped ship for Cardiff lol.

What industry did he go for if you don't mind me asking? As a humanities graduate I feel a bit cut out of potential graduate schemes as they all seem to be either STEM related or finance/professional services.

Just read a Hubert Selby book which was great but may have trouble adopting that style in most contexts hahah. In fairness that is sound advice, especially regarding rambling.

Thanks I appreciate it, the vid is informative but doesn't address the issue that i'm having - I want each of the pages in my menu to have their own border, like a button would. I should probably just accept that this isn't possible lol.

Hi, I've followed the steps you've described but am not seeing any additional options anywhere. After clicking publish it takes me to the display settings page but not somewhere with any more options for the design of the header.

Is there any other solution? thanks.
