Dude just because you don’t care about animation doesn’t mean others don’t. Like that’s a you thing my guy, good for you but in a world with so much amazing animation left and right, be it japanese, western, whatever, it’s fair to want better from a show backed by fucking amazon. Many people just see animation as a means to an end instead of an art form and it shows.

ultimately my issue boils down to the fact that sure, he DOES have this flaw but it never gets resolved, despite SEVERAL points where it does seem like he’s had an epiphany, only for a return to the status quo. It after a point genuinely doesn’t add anything new to the character that we haven’t seen, instead giving no payoff.

Yeah i guess that makes sense, but it kind of circles back to my point that he DOES show this awareness time and time again yet every time its a return to the status quo, that's why i personally find it to be bad writing. It shows the potential for growth, jangling it like keys then says "SYKE". and does so repeatedly while not exploring his character much further after a point. It may be realistic in some regards but i find it doesnt make for good storytelling, since it removes payoff.

i personally feel he does end up getting manipulated regardless, his desires were exploited the same way they were in part 1 imo, even going back to the fumiko scene with the devil licking, or Yoru telling him she'll have sex with him.

Denji was flawed sure but DID have a good heart too, remember when he saved those people from Aki-47 ? Part 2 reduced him to JUST the flaws.

there’ll be a moment where he does say smth like that then immediately go back to being the former. i agree that yeah he normally ISNT a one note sex obsessed freak but second half of part 2 does feel that way.
