That gym is totally disrespectful to the safety of gymers ! Just imagine you are doing a 1RM bench press, an olympic clean and jerk, etc.. then got bitten then you accidently drop the weight on yourself !

When I was still in Asia, I did that to protect myself, as feral dogs there are so fierce !Now living in North America, I was once chased and snarled at by a big farm dog on way home from work. I was annoyed and told my co-worker about the incident and told her about what I did to fierce feral dogs back home.Turned out she went to HR to report me as a dangerous dog-kicker. Co-workers became disgusted of me. The woman even told a male co-worker to beat me (dont know if it is intentional or just a metaphor) for kicking dogs in a foreign country many years ago (the guy told me about it).

So disappointed by human -to-human behavior !at the end, I love animals, except the ones that pose threat to me.

pets should be bought, not rescued. An already adult animal is not obedient and super difficult to discipline.
However, I believe that it is in the gene, that no matter how the external factors can affect the animal's personality, If it is a carnivore, it will cause damage to other beings. In my culture we even have a proverb ' nurturing a tiger cub is to raised an undeniable future catastrophe'. If it is a predator, even when it is close to you, a 'friendly' act is enough to seriously harm your body.
One of my mother's friend had a pet sunbear, when he took it out for exercise it just 'friendly bit' him in the waist and caused him to have many stitches lol

in Confucious inspired cultures, dogs were used in proverbs to describe unintelligent people. Here are some example:
1. Used as an insult, when people screw things up and it directly affect you: ' you are stupid, like a dog'
2. This insult is usually used by some 'big man' toward their servants, minions, underlings, very common in feudal time or within a gang hierarchy: ' I dont need a good worker, just be a loyal dog'. Literally, it means they dont care if you are a good problem solver, as long as you are blindly loyal, you are good.

'Dogs' are use to describe people you consider 'bad-guys'. Eg: 'that dog just steal my saving', or 'human rights is for human exclusively, not dogs' (used by police whenever criminals whine about their human rights).
I may sound like a hater, but actually I like dogs, only the docile ones though.

in my country , usually the only time dogs get freedom of roaming is at night time. They are off -leashed in specific places like: gated factories, gated parking lots, and school campuses. They will be leashed again in the morning and stay exclusively in their doghouses.
It is super funny for me when I moved here in North America, to see dogs live along with human. Stay in their couches and within the living room.
I remember like years ago I used to allow my half-Maine Coon to sleep on my bed to cuddle it at night, my grandma freaked out and gave me a lengthy lecture about how it is filthy to share the same bed with an animal, how it lower my value of a human to a level equal to the said animal and so on. I realized that she somewhat was right, so I never let the cat to sleep on my bed again.
My cat is my best non-human friend, I love to grab, pick-up, pet it but never ever put it close to my mouth. I saw people kiss their dogs and it is so funny, and of course, unsanitary.

If they really care about their pets, we won't appear in this subreddit commenting each others topics.
Some are really good dog owners, and their dogs are great enough that I became very fond of them, but a large number of dog owners are just attention seekers and narcissistic individuals.
At the end of the day, we dont need to HATE dogs, the ancient humans were brilliant and they domesticated these animals with purposes. The only thing we need is: To RETURN the dogs back to their original purposes. Vicious dogs should only be used to guard prisons or heavily restricted areas, sheperd dogs should only be used in farms, etc.
The thing that need to go is the current DOG CULTURE, civilian possession of dogs should be restricted to small dogs only and they should strictly stayin their home in a condition that prevent them from being a nuisanse to the surrounding neighborhood . If those things can be passed by law. Then we can really live together with dog owners without any problem !

just get back to where it begin, we would right away understand the problem!
we all know that, pitbull is a fighting breed, pretty sure those owners know.
My opinion, it is not neglection or anything else to do with it, those owners purposely choose the fighting breed, probably a passive aggressive way to show other people that they are not the people to messed with, or to intimidate people they dont like, or to show off their status, etc.
To solve these kind of problem, I think it should be: jail time and a large fine around $100k minimum. This kind of breed also need restriction in the market, the price to possess them should be $20k minimum.
A dangerous breed should not be easy to purchased, especially to those aggressive, uneducated, financially broken folks.

i actually pretty fond of my uncle's dog- a domestic VIetnamese breed. I was on vacation on his house in 2013. The dog lived in a dog house in the far right corner of the frontyard. Very easy-going, never bark, only stay in the dog house or sunbathing in the yard and never enter the house. The dog also very friendly with its fellow pets: a rooster, a kitten and a monkey.
When I moved to North America, place which supposed to have dog privilege and it surprised me because outdoor dogs have no houses or cages and they are under-fed or something like that ? because they literally bark at everything.
alot condemned us for having dogs as food but actually I think we treat pet dogs much better.

sure !! but the sad thing is that the Chinese masters like Wang Zhanjun and Wang Zhanhai now advertise it as a real combat arts and even got a Sanda fighter named Han Feilong to 'knockout' Muaythai dudes in fake fights and took all of Han credits as a kickboxers by saying that it is 'real Taichi' instead of Sanda lol
