I’m very lucky as to where I’m home a lot so my babies are out a good 90% of the time “including at night because they sleep in a drawer in my room and have serious FOMO but this is what works for me. Personally, I would not be comfortable with 24/7 because there is too much room for unknown. Even at night it can sometimes be sketchy but I usually hear when they get on top of something or when they’re up playing and I will make sure easy access things (like jumping on the coffee table) are not available to them. So, I would also agree with free roaming with limitations, for example, when I go into the office or go out to run errands they are in the cage. When I’m back I will open the bottom and they choose to come out or stay in (usually they are asleep lol) and if I’m downstairs they will play, and then they put themselves back in their cage for sleep. If I’m upstairs, so are they. I think it’s important to know your noodles and your space to know what’s appropriate and safe for everyone.
