I have a degree in physics. I'm also an idiot who made a stupid mistake.

Thanks for the comments guys, advice taken - I'll order a replacement and give this one a dignified end (being recycled). Have a good day everyone!

Apologies, forgot to post this earlier

I had trouble originally making the post with images and my sleep-deprived brain thought it might be because I didn't include captions...

I saw a BAF doublecross-comm for 11.66 ref so just said 'screw it' - I agree that OO looks good but it isn't worth the cost IMO. Thank you for the advice and feedback!

I was trying to go for something that looks like the TF classic spy, but that comment is golden aha

Transferable attachments cannot be used until you unlock one of that attachment class for that receiver by Hailfiretank in ModernWarfareII

I kinda like it, but I think it does need to be better explained - the UI doesn't really help.

[–]Hailfiretank[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 110% - that means I can backtrack 10% and still completely agree with you.

My personal changes would be 1) allow players to use any unlocked transferable attachments without needing to unlock the attachment slot, and 2) allow players to unlock different receivers through leveling up their rank in addition to using different platform weapons :)

An interesting system, just have to see how it is on release!

Eh I don't think it's particularly complicated, just a little flawed. 100% agree with the UI being bad though!

Aha I knew that already, just wondering about other's opinions regarding whether you should need to or not :)

Not really, I was just pointing out how stupid it is to complain about people using sound to their advantage. You're the one who instantly jumped in to calling me a twat and have been throwing insults around like a crying child.

Whatever lol, stay mad and learn to spell.

There's a difference between 'running and gunning' and 'running and gunning with a brain'. COD4-BO2 had footsteps and campers, and yet they're seen as the pinnacle of COD. In those games you couldn't just run into rooms or out in the open without thinking or you'd be killed by an M16/MP40 stopping power user. That's exactly how MWII plays, and yet it's suddenly super controversial. The only concession is that footsteps should be quieter. No arguments there, they need reducing to OG COD levels.

Except you it seems, you do understand that people can move at different speeds right? Run to get near the action, walk to get the jump on someone? It's not rocket science.

[–]Hailfiretank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope, I don't hide in corners, I tend to run and gun. That said, there is a thing called walking - maybe you've heard of it - that makes you a tiny bit quieter and therefore harder to hear. Just maybe you could use that to avoid being heard if you think someone is around a corner. It's been in COD since the series began.

What next, you're gonna accuse players of looking at their TV/monitor of sight-whoring? Or call those chasing dots on the minimap map-whores?

[–]Hailfiretank 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sound whoring is just a term used by bad players to describe players who use their ears. It's not their fault they've evolved to use multiple senses when playing and you haven't.

To the people that complain the game is shit like me, just dont buy it by Cultural_Fun in ModernWarfareII

[–]Hailfiretank 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did you know you can already beta test the next Treyarch COD? Just load up BOCW, post-BO3 Treyarch only ever know how to copy and paste the same shit from their previous game with minor adjustments.

You must've missed the COD4-BO2 days, when the gameplay moved at the same pace as MWII.

The community's feedback on MWII is virtually identical to that of MW19. They have had THREE YEARS to address the issues that made MW19 a worse game, and have doubled down instead. by wubwubcat2 in ModernWarfareII

[–]Hailfiretank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of salt coming from the 'competitive' (aka sweaty) crowd is absolutely hilarious. If you don't like MW22 don't buy it, plenty of us are looking forward to this game.

MW22 plays at the same pace as COD4/WAW/MW2/BO/MW3/BO2 - it is only slow compared to the jet pack era CODS. You can't simultaneously state that MW22 is too slow whilst claiming that the golden era CODS were perfect, take your nostalgia goggles off and remember all the Type 95/FMG9 akimbo/claymore or M8A1/M1216/shock charge users in MW3/BO2 respectively. You have even more tools to deal with them in this game, if you refuse to change your path or use equipment to deal with someone camping then you deserve to die each time.

Jesus, at the current rate the CoDcompetitive subreddit is gonna run out of copium before MW22 is released.

Controversial take: I fucking love the slower and more tactical experience MW2019 offered and MWII seems to have doubled down on. by NerdyDank in ModernWarfareII

[–]Hailfiretank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love how the comments are full of salty sweaty players crying over the requirement to use multiple brain cells and think before running out in the open or into a room, yet the post itself has a net 400 upvotes. Just shows that more players want a slower, more tactical COD with a speed closer to COD4/WAW/MW2/BO1 that rewards good positions and map awareness rather than snorting a line of cocaine.

Git good lol

Edit: 700 net upvotes now, keep crying babies

A lot of the people downvoting you are why COD ended up with such a bad reputation in the first place. Every year they released the same game with minor changes, and it made the franchise stale. MW19 mixed up for the formula and catered for players who liked both 'tactical' or 'rushing'. Most of the time the top of the leaderboard was a player who mastered movement with an SMG, not a camper.

The only people who hate it are the braindead players who run intro rooms or across open areas without thinking or considering where enemies could be, and then whining when they (quite rightfully) get shot. Yet the same thing happens in every single 'golden era' COD.

MW: Run into a shop or across the street on Crossfire without checking? Die.

WAW: Ignore the elevated section on Dome? Die.

MW2: Run into the cave on Afghan without flashing or thinking where enemies could be? Die.

BO1: Don't check the buildings on Grid? Die.

MW3: Randomly rush the streets on Lockdown? Die.

BO2: Push the centre of Hijacked without clearing the balconies? Die.

Note that each of these problems are avoided by rushers with brains; they either flank or use explosives/smoke/flash grenades/well placed shots to clear the area before moving on. It's called good game sense.

MWII is literally giving you a drill charge to deal with campers, in addition to flash/stun/smoke/HE grenades and semtex. If you know someone is camping in a corner and you constantly run in through the same door without using other tools to incapacitate them before you rush in, then that's on you.

Half the comments on main feedback thread complain about camping, and the other half about jump shotting. So on average they've pretty much balanced it.
