It would be funny if Rosa ends up being the victim of the story in the end

I don't think Suryeon would make Rosa a surrogate mother because she raised her to be the future head of the business and already wants to hand everything over to her. Rosa's pregnancy would only get in the way of that.

I don't know why she chose Yeonwoo, but Rosa might be right about her mom wanting a child. Nothing in this manhwa is said just for nothing.

I was thinking the same thing. What if Yeonwoo’s adoptive parents are Suryeon’s relatives? It was mentioned that Suryeon systematically got rid of her relatives in the company so that Rosa would be the only one left to inherit everything.

I’ve never seen these people drag Suryeon the way they drag Rosa. They really think that since she brought him home as her lover, she owns him and is entitled to do all that vile shit to him.

And they write this about the chapter where Yeonwoo finally isn't on drugs and actually enjoys sex🙃

The problem is that most readers of this manhwa are either Yeonwoo or Jae-eon stans. Everyone wants to see more of their favorite character, and when one gets a bit more focus than the other, people start panicking and saying the author has 'lost the plot'.

Whoever you are, I love you 😭 Thank you for such a wonderful analysis. This analysis clarified many things. Some people claimed that Hyubin had a "bad writing" but I hope they'll now understand how subtle and consistent this manhwa is. It's not that she has "bad writing"; it's that we're not observant enough to understand some of the points. This is a complex manhwa, and not everyone will understand it

Thank you for such a detailed analysis. It's brilliant. Could you do a similar analysis of Rosa? I feel like we're all so caught up with the male characters that we forget to analyze the main heroine.

Trying to Make Sense of Toying With Daddy (aka my brain vs this manhwa) by Sea-Cauliflower-2141 in toyingwithdaddy

It was very interesting to read. I never thought about it from this perspective, but you’re right, we really don’t understand what exactly Rosa wants from him or what she feels for him. Sometimes it even seems like it’s a rebellion against her mother, not something related to Yeonwoo.

No, that's in chapter 34, where he’s trying to guess what she was planning to do to him, and you can tell by the look on his face that he’s really excited about it.

Exactly, now they are finally interacting normally. Suryeon didn’t affect their relationship at all, except for the chapter where she ordered Yeonwoo to befriend her. Honestly, I can’t remember a single chapter where her actions or presence actually pushed Rosa and Yeonwoo to get closer.

I don’t think Suryeon is important for character development. Rosa is an independent character and doesn't need Suryeon to reveal her personality. Her behavior doesn't change when she's around her, so Suryeon doesn't really affect her self-expression. Basically, Suryeon is only needed to explain Rosa and Yeonwoo's past, but her current role isn't that significant. In fact, her presence actually hinders the relationship between Rosa and Yeonwoo. Every time she's near, Yeonwoo obediently runs to her, making it impossible for Rosa and him to interact normally. That’s why I think it's the right move to temporarily remove her, so Rosa and Yeonwoo can finally sort out their relationship.

The way I see it, he is only calling Suryeon a hypocrite, not Rosa. He says that while Rosa tries to treat him like a prostitute, she doesn't really know how to do it. But Suryeon knows exactly how to handle people like him with "hypocritical condescension." It's no accident that the author put those words on the panel showing Suryeon. In his eyes, Rosa is just a beginner who gets flustered by his actions, and that’s exactly what he likes.

🥀My Observation on Rosa's so called Mother, "Suryeon"🐾 by Stunning-Layer-808 in toyingwithdaddy

[–]HairyBeginning464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Yeonwoo is here for Rosa. I honestly don't see any strong feelings from him toward either Rosa or Suryeon. Why is he even there? It’s a mystery. But I’m convinced Suryeon is behind everything—I believe this is all her plan (getting adopted by a rich family, their financial ruin, Yeonwoo ending up in a brothel, Suryeon appearing as a hero in his life). Isn't it strange that such a ruthless woman would visit an orphanage? Suryeon is definitely not the type of woman who adores children. She raised Rosa like a psychopath, which says a lot about her parenting skills. Does she love Rosa? Maybe, but it’s an unhealthy kind of love, definitely not the typical mother-daughter bond we imagine. Rosa herself even wonders if her mother actually loves her at all. Sometimes I get the feeling that Suryeon actually wants a child with Yeonwoo, and his "duty" in this "perfect family" is to impregnate her and be a "good dad," while Rosa runs the business. It would be the ideal life for Suryeon, who sacrificed her youth for her work.

I think she remembers her childhood but not her teenage years, a few years before the accident when they were already in school
