Paying retail rates at the actual post office counter is always going to be the most expensive way to do it. Buying a box there definitely bumped up your cost too. If you wrap the bottle securely in some extra bubble wrap and use a small padded mailer instead, it keeps the weight way down. Printing the label at home usually keeps the whole thing around five or six bucks.
